Wolves looking to sign “unbelievable” who is “available” this summer
Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to return to the Premier League next season and are already keen to sign a player who can help make that happen.
Wolves are targeting £8m for the Premier League star
The Midlands side knew their fate for a long time and although that was disappointing, it also gave them a head start in the transfer window.
The early relegation allowed them to assess who might be heading for the exit door, and who might come in to replace those players under Rob Edwards this summer.
The Wolves star is set to leave with ‘advanced talks’ ongoing and the ‘deal’ being sealed
Old Gold is about to say goodbye.
Already, it looks like Joao Gomes is likely to leave Molineux in the coming months and replacing the Brazilian will not be an easy task.
On the other hand, though, it looks like Kieran Trippier could be in for what is a smart acquisition. The 35-year-old is not at his peak, but this is still a player who has played in the Champions League for the past few months. He is more than capable of pulling the club back into the top flight.
The same can be said for another Premier League goal. According to Sky Sports, Wolves are now looking at a move to sign Anthony Patterson.
Sky Sports have shared “breaking news” surrounding the Sunderland stopper and revealed he is “available” if the clubs meet an asking price of between £8m and £10m this summer.
Patterson spent the second half of the season on loan at Millwall, helping them reach the play-offs before ultimately falling short. They are now keen to make that loan permanent, but first they must hope to win the Championship against Wolves.
“Unbelievable” Patterson should replace Jose Sa
Sam Johnstone and Jose Sa have been in contention to be Wolves No.1 for a long time, but the reality is that not enough has changed in the last 12 months – opening the way for Patterson to arrive.
The Sunderland man was unfortunate to miss out on his place in the Premier League and quickly proved his worth at Millwall. For around £10m he would be the best addition to the Midlands.
Not only is he in his prime at the age of 26, but he’s already got a boost on his CV. That experience, alone, makes him valuable in the second division.
Patterson received incredible acclaim over the years, too. Sunderland team-mate Simon Moore told reporters on 2024: “Patto is there [with keepers I’ve worked with].
“I’ve followed him for a long time even before I got here and he’s a class act, he pulls off unbelievable saves. He’s a bit slow with the ball at his feet, he’s calm and composed. He’s very good at it, he can play at the top without hesitation.”
