Tottenham could join Arsenal in the race for the £100m star with Man United’s contract “on hold”

Tottenham’s summer recruitment drive continues at full speed, with the club already making key additions while pursuing a number of high-profile targets.
It has been a productive few weeks for Spurs as preparations for the new season gather pace.
The first big arrival was Andy Robertson, with Tottenham moving in earnest to secure one of the most experienced defenders in the Premier League.
The Scotland captain brings leadership, world-class experience and a winning mentality to north London after years of success at Liverpool.
Instead of focusing only on young prospects as in previous years, Tottenham have shown that they are also willing to hire proven players who can make an impact quickly.

Robertson’s arrival reinforces a key position for the team and adds valuable experience to the locker room.
That move was quickly followed by another defensive addition.
Indeed, Marcos Senesi has officially completed his transfer to Tottenham after leaving Bournemouth.
The Argentine defender arrives with extensive Premier League experience and is expected to provide quality depth at the heart of the defence.
However, the Spurs don’t stop there.
The club are still negotiating a deal for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, who continues to be one of the most wanted. Brighton have already rejected a number of offers, but Tottenham are rumored to be motivated by the player’s desire to leave.

They consider him more than Savinho.
There is also continued interest in Man City winger Savinho.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to north London all week as Spurs explore ways to add more pace and creativity to their attack.
His ability to play on both sides could provide another interesting option in the final third.
Taken together, the work highlights Tottenham’s ambition.
The club are looking to strengthen several areas of the squad and appear determined to give their manager the necessary tools to put the 25/26 woes behind them.
Tottenham could join the race for Newcastle star Sandro Tonali
According to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham can enter the race for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali.
The Italian journalist was discussing Man United’s search for another midfielder following their signing of Ederson from Atalanta.
While Tonali remains on United’s radar, Di Marzio suggested the situation is no longer as it was at the start of the summer, with his deal now ‘on hold’.
Di Marzio, speaking to Rekatochklart, specifically named Arsenal and Tottenham as possible clubs to take part if the opportunity arose.
“They were looking for Sandro Tonali, but at the moment the deal is on hold,” said Di Marzio.
“If they don’t move him forward, Mateus Fernandes will be the second player in midfield. I’m sure they will sign another senior midfielder.
“Mateus Fernandes and Tonali are the ones to watch at the moment. However, Tonali is a little bit lower compared to last month.
“Other clubs could also be interested in Tonali. Arsenal, who wanted him in January, or Tottenham could also enter the race.”
For Spurs, it could be an eye-catching move.
Tonali has rebuilt his reputation since returning to the game and is one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe. His combination of technical quality, work rate and tactical acumen would make him an attractive addition to almost any elite club.
The 26-year-old also has proven Premier League pedigree from his time at Newcastle.
Whether Tottenham are actively working on a deal remains unclear.
At this stage, the review seems to be about potential interest rather than advanced discussions. However, Di Marzio’s comments suggest that Spurs may be keeping an eye on the development.
Much will depend on Newcastle’s position and whether Tonali himself is open to considering a move to N17, not to mention his reported price tag of around £100 million.
In the meantime, Spurs fans can take heart from the club’s ambitious summer strategy.
