The State Department is offering a $10 million reward for information about Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and several senior officials linked to the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Officials said the award, which is part of the Department of Justice’s benefits program, is an effort to gather intelligence on the IRGC and its leadership, which Washington accuses of planning attacks on Americans and supporting terrorism.
The award was directed at Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several key figures within Iran’s ruling security establishment.
The ministry said it is seeking information on Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of the Supreme Leader’s Office, and Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

The program also features a list of senior figures connected to Iran’s security and intelligence, including Yahya Rahim Safavi, the supreme leader’s top military adviser, Esmail Khatib, Iran’s intelligence minister and Eskandar Momeni, the country’s interior minister.
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which is part of Iran’s official military, plays an important role in Iran’s use of terrorism as an important tool of Iranian statecraft,” the State Department said.
“In addition, the IRGC has created, supported, and directed other terrorist groups. The IRGC is responsible for many attacks against American people and US facilities, including those that have killed US citizens,” the department said.

The agency said the IRGC has also expanded its influence beyond military operations since its establishment after the 1979 Iranian Revolution, focusing more on the country’s political and economic system.
“Since its establishment in 1979, the IRGC has achieved a major role in implementing Iran’s foreign policy,” the department said. “This group now controls many parts of Iran’s economy and has influence over Iran’s domestic politics.”
