Due to their fighting styles and the fact that both boxers are undefeated, the Zayas vs Ennis fight is very interesting. The action will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and will be streamed live on DAZN where one can watch.
Xander Zayas made his pro debut in October 2019 when he stopped his opponent in the first round. Zayas started a win streak, and during the streak, he would talk about his dream of becoming a world champion.
Five years into his professional career, Xander Zayas’ dream of being a world native from San Juan, Puerto Rico became a reality. In July 2025, Zayas defeated Jorge Perez to win the vacant WBO junior-middleweight world title.
Six months later, Zayas became the unified world champion when he defeated Abbass Baraou and won the WBA title. Now 23-year-old Xander Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) is ready to face the biggest challenge of his career.
At the beginning of his boxing career as a 147-pounder, Jaron Ennis wanted a chance to face Errol Spence Jr or Terence “Bud” Crawford. Spence and Crawford would go head-to-head, then go on and on.
This opened the way for Ennis to take the welterweight belt. Back in January 2023, Ennis defeated Karen Chukhadzhian to win the vacant IBF interim welterweight title.
When 147-pound champion Terence Crawford moved up to 154, Ennis was promoted to IBF world champion. Ennis would go on to have two successful title defenses.
Bots became the unified world champion in April 2025 when he stopped Eimantas Stanionis in the 6th round, and won the WBA and The Ring welterweight titles. Now Jaron Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs) will try to become a two-division joint world champion on Saturday night.
Xander Zayas is a technical boxer who fights outside the orthodox, but is naturally a lefty. Zayas has a strong jab, is an aggressive boxer, uses his legs to control the range, is disciplined, and has a high work rate.
Philadelphia native, 29-year-old Bots Ennis, is a skilled switch hitter with all the tools. Ennis is quick, creative, has explosiveness, timing, and is adept at setting traps, especially when using a high guard.
Both boxers are talented, but they have repeated mistakes. Xander doesn’t move his head, and becomes vulnerable when he’s forced to his right. Boots has a tendency to confuse his feet, and sometimes, when he hurts his opponent, he becomes overly aggressive and opens up to fight.
If you go strictly with the eye test, it will convince you that Boot Ennis wins this battle. If you follow discipline and execute the game plan correctly, you should give Xander a legitimate shot at pulling off the upset.
The Matchroom/Top Rank co-promoted event features two boxers in pursuit of excellence. Zayas and Ennis will enter the ring as undefeated fighters, but at the end of the night, someone’s 0 has to end.
