The manager is ‘very attracted’ to Crystal Palace as Parish offer a lucrative contract

Crystal Palace and chairman Steve Parish have made one manager a lucrative offer to join them, and his response has been overwhelmingly positive, according to reports.

Palace are heading into the final stages of one of the most memorable seasons in their history, with Sunday’s home game against Everton coming just three days after sealing a place in the Europa Conference League final.

Oliver Glasner’s side beat Shakhtar Donetsk 5-2 on aggregate – 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Thursday – to book a trip to the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, where Rayo Vallecano will be their opponents.

It’s the club’s first European final appearance, and understandably sent expectations in the SE25 skyrocketing.

However, the immediate challenge is more practice.

Palace sit 15th in the Premier League, seven points above the relegation zone with three games remaining, and while the statistics confirm their safety is close to being assured, a win on Sunday will seal it for good and allow Glasner to fully focus on Leipzig.

Eddie Howe’s stay opened up an opportunity for the Eagles.

Glasner has suggested that he can move around a lot, with the Conference League finals being a priority.

Adam Wharton, Ismaila Sarr, Ismaila Sarr, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Tyrick Mitchell and Yeremy Pino as players who could be rested, meaning a much changed team will face Everton.

Jörgen Strand Larsen is expected to lead the line, with Brennan Johnson and Justin Devenny providing support in attack, while Jefferson Lerma and Will Hughes are likely options in midfield.

Eddie Nketiah, Borna Sosa and Evan Guessand remain sidelined.

Everton have conceded a goal in the 90th minute or later in each of their last three games – the first club in Premier League history to do so in three consecutive games, a record Moyes will be aiming to break.

Their European hopes are fading fast – they have just one win in their last six, and a tired rotating Palace side at Selhurst Park represents their best remaining chance of picking up the points they need.

Everton have won each of their last three meetings with Palace 2-1, and their historic head-to-head record at Selhurst gives Moyes cause for quiet optimism.

Off the field, the development that has been happening all week has now taken a major turn.

Andoni Iraola is ‘very attractive’ to Crystal Palace after being offered big money

According to Marca journalist Matteo Moretto, one of the most reliable voices in Spanish football transfers, Palace chief executive Andoni Iraola is very attracted to the Crystal Palace project.

According to Moretto, the financial offer that Palace has put on the table is huge, and the Basque coach now seems very willing to accept it.

The report confirms what BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel revealed earlier this week – that preliminary talks have taken place and Iraola has not said he will join the Eagles.

The administrative environment around him has been greatly simplified.

Edin Terzic’s move to Athletic Club Bilbao closed off one potential route, Chelsea’s instability appears to have done nothing to entice him, while Eddie Howe’s move to Newcastle has ruled out another viable option.

Palace’s Conference League final appearance, the club’s infrastructure which has grown steadily over the past three years, and the clear ownership of football seems to have taken a toll on the coach – and the big cash offer.

Glasner is signing on for his unusual position at the end of this month, and by then, his successor may have been confirmed.
