The club are now ready to sell Newcastle’s biggest target as a PIF property in a £26m swoop

Newcastle United have received an early boost as they look to land summer additions, with one defensive target now available for a price tag of £26m.
Newcastle’s goal is open to the move at St James’ Park
The Magpies should have cash to spare following the £69m sale of Anthony Gordon. That’s partly why the two broke up without the usual anger that accompanies a big move.
How Newcastle spend that money is now the big question. They will know more than most about how a large transfer fee can be wasted. In the last 12 months, they have welcomed Yoane Wissa, Nick Woltemade and Anthony Elanga into the resurgence. All since then have failed to make their mark.

In this case, things should be different. Targets such as Abde Ezzalzouli are already being looked at and it is no surprise that he is in the prime position to replace Gordon, having been involved in 28 goals for Real Betis this season.
Elsewhere, those on Tyneside also directed Tino Livramento’s cover. According to Jeunes Footeux in France, Strasbourg are ready to sell Guela Doue to Newcastle, making the right-back one of their top targets this summer.

Newcastle are in danger of losing Tonali in the summer transfer window.
Priced at just E30m (£26m), Doue is a bargain for the Magpies following Gordon’s sale boost. And considering Livramento’s injury history, a move to another right-back is no doubt understandable.
Newcastle were smart to sign Doue this summer
Although it was Gordon who stole the headlines this summer, it wasn’t long before Livramento was on Manchester City’s radar. If those rumors return, Newcastle must be ready to lose on the right and have someone to replace him quickly. This is where Doue would come in.

In terms of consistency, Doue will be able to fit into the Newcastle role. He is undoubtedly a better creator and a better possession – two qualities Eddie Howe desperately needs. So even if Livramento leaves soon, there is a potential development.
With Strasbourg open to a sale and a price tag out of their range, the Magpies should have a plan to run towards the defender’s signature – avoiding the last-minute transfer drama of last season’s most expensive of the entire campaign.
