‘Sheep Detective’ stars Hugh Jackman, Chris O’Dowd, and Nicholas Braun play Pop Mash

Focusing on the flock that is determined to solve the case of their murdered shepherd, Sheep Detectives exciting new movie. To celebrate its theatrical release, Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko sat down with three of the film’s stars, Hugh Jackman, Chris O’Dowd, and Nicholas Braun, for Mashable’s Pop Mash.

Puchko provides Jackman, O’Dowd, and Braun with a description of the movie that actually pulls details from two different films. What these two films have in common is one word in their titles; when movies are combined, you get a new mash-up title.

Example: Nicolas Cage plays a love-struck celestial being in this drama, where he helps the LA baseball team win.

Answer: A city of angels in outer space.

Because Sheep searchers, Puchko customized the tracks so that at least one title in each description stars Jackman, O’Dowd, or Braun.

Here are the Pop Mash puzzles they faced:

• This Wallace & Gromit the spinoff centers on a scrappy farm animal who leads a murder investigation when his beloved shepherd turns up dead.

• In this comedy, Steve Martin stars as a grandfather, who is crazy as his daughter – played by Kristen Wiig – struggles with how to be the maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding. Chris O’Dowd joins him as a kind cop.

• Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz fall in love in this surprising rom-com about a magical English nanny who returns to visit the family who once saw her fly with her umbrella.

• Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson play a Neil Diamond cover band in this neo-noir by David Lynch, where Dennis Hopper is a deranged criminal who huffers poppers.

• A school for super-powered teenagers could be where young Will Stronghold finds his inner hero. But how will he cope when a revenge-seeking cowboy challenges him to a shootout at 12 PM?

• In this comedy, Hugh Jackman plays a man with balls hanging under his chin, while Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson play three eligible guys overwhelmed by babysitting duties.

• The God of Thunder is back for this highly focused sequel, which earned an Oscar nomination for John Lithgow’s portrayal of the transgender ex-footballer.

• This Pixar movie about a little girl who can transform into a giant gray monster surprised audiences and critics alike with its grown-up subject. Written and directed by Kevin Smith, this film delves into the story of a Christian cult, armed with hot girls and lots of guns.
