Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., blasted podcast host Joe Rogan in a post from his press office account, responding to a resurfaced clip in which the podcast host called Newsom a “f—ing con man.”
“JOE ‘LITTLE GUY’ ROGAN IS TOO CHICKEN TO GET ON HIS FAILING PODCAST BECAUSE HE KNOWS I’M GOING TO CONTINUE, SO HE’S TAKING CHEAP GUNS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY LIKE HE’S TURNING IRRELEVANCY. NOTHING RELEVANT. ‘LITTLE GUY.’ OR KEEP HIDING!!!! – Governor GCN,” the Trump-style caption read.
The governor’s press team was responding to a clip of Rogan discussing the 2024 election with Patrick Bet-David in 2023.

“No one wants President Newsom either,” Rogan said. “No one believes that guy. That guy’s a fraud. I mean, everything he did in California, from trying to approve childhood vaccines where it wasn’t necessary at all to be caught in public without a mask and lied about being out. Everything. It’s just, nobody believes that guy. He’s just a politician with little experience, a politician you know and a politician you know. Nobody thinks he’s a real person,” Rogan said during the 2023 interview.
Rogan called out Newsom recently during an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” after his press office account poked fun at Nick Shirley’s fraud investigation by posting what appeared to be a funny, AI-generated photo of a man holding several cameras in a daycare center and asking a teacher, “Hey, can I see your kids?”
“Did you see what the governor sent, what Newsom’s press office wrote?” Rogan asked his guest on the March episode of his show. “They posted a picture of Nick Shirley, like a fake Nick Shirley, like a meme — like Nick Shirley peeking through windows.”

Newsom posted on his X account in October, accusing Rogan of being too chicken to live with.
In an October 2025 clip that Newsom responded to, Rogan said, “You can’t destroy a city and then continue to destroy the country and say, ‘Guys, that was just a routine. When I come in as president, I’m going to fix everything,'” referring to Newsom.

Rogan continued, “Like, everybody’s LEAVING. You’ve got high unemployment. You’ve got high homelessness. Money’s lost. You’ve killed Hollywood. Like, Hollywood’s gone. It’s literally gone. You’ve approved policies for kids who don’t need them. You’re doing the worst —.”
