As mentioned, the name La Liga seems to be on their radar. According to the Mirror, Newcastle have launched a bid to sign Munoz from Osasuna, leapfrogging Aston Villa in the race to land the winger in the process.
Munoz, who is only 22 years old, graduated from Real Madrid’s academy and has been at Osasuna since last summer. However, in less than a year, he has entered Newcastle’s radar after an impressive campaign.
The youngster also spent time at Barcelona’s La Masia academy. In terms of pure talent, he is a player full of talent. Whether Newcastle’s early contact will be enough to lure him to St James’ Park remains to be seen.
The impressive Munoz could replace Gordon
Replacing Gordon won’t be an easy task, but picking a former Real Madrid and Barcelona gem wouldn’t be a bad idea. Munoz has proven why he has the potential to perform at the highest level this season, scoring seven goals and creating five more in all competitions.

It’s easy to see why Newcastle have Munoz on their radar. In terms of numbers, he has matched Gordon in almost every department this season, with the same output and better takeoff success.
If the Magpies can cash in on their winger for a hefty fee, before signing Munoz, then they may be able to think of a very good deal when the summer window ends.
The 22-year-old is not at the peak of his powers yet, but the fact that the goals are starting to come in La Liga should be seen as a very good sign.
