New Google Fitbit Air: Prices start at $99.99

Content
Summer fitness tracking has just been updated. On May 7, Google officially launched the Fitbit Air, which Stephen Curry has been sporting for weeks. The screenless health and fitness tracker will ship on May 26 and is probably the new Whoop competitor. While the Fitbit Air looks great and comes with some easy-to-use features, its $99.99 price tag may be one of its best features.

As the name suggests, the Fitbit Air is incredibly light, coming in at just 12 grams with the band. Designed to be comfortable enough for all day and all night wear. This is good news as Google says the battery life can be extended up to one week, and it has advanced sleep tracking capabilities.
We have a lot of options when it comes to fitness trackers, including smart rings, but not many fall under the $100 price tag. Google aims to bring a level of simplicity to fitness tracking with the Fitbit Air, both in functionality and overall appearance, according to a product release.

Features of Fitbit Air
As we’ve come to expect from fitness trackers, the Fitbit Air does standard workout tracking, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, and sleep phase monitoring. Getting more and unique information, Fitbit Air recognizes the rhythm of the heart and is equipped with warnings of Afib (atrial fibrillation). It also tracks SpO2 and heart rate variability.
Mashable Trend Report
When it’s time to workout, you don’t need to notify the Spirit because it’s designed to automatically identify and track workouts. Google says that over time, the tracker will get better at automatic detection as it gets more familiar with your habits. If swimming is your favorite activity, the water resistance is up to 50 meters.
The Fitbit Air’s battery life is said to last up to seven days, and a full recharge should take about 90 minutes. If you’re short on time, Google says a five-minute charge will get you another day of battery life.
Stephen Curry’s special edition
In addition to the usual color options, there is a special edition offered at launch – the Stephen Curry model. The NBA champion helped Google create the Fitbit Air, and the special model comes with a Performance Loop band with a waterproof coating. The interior has raised straps that are said to help increase ventilation during intense activity. Stephen Curry’s Fitbit Air system comes in at $129.99, or $30 more than the Air with the classic band.
