Liverpool are investigating the signing of Michael Olise, who is wanted by Barcelona and Real Madrid
Liverpool have now launched an inquiry to sign the “amazing” Bayern Munich star, who is also being targeted by Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Reds are starting to put together a strong run of form, as we approach the business end of the season, winning their last three Premier League games, with Cody Gakpo breaking a seven-game losing streak in last week’s 5-2 win over West Ham United.
There was no such luck for Mohamed Salah, however, and the Egyptian drew criticism from former defender Steve Nicol, who said: “I know we’re hired here because we’ve been playing and we’ve seen almost everything, I’ve never seen this, I’ve never seen this.
“How someone can go from the top of a mountain and just disappear so quickly is very scary. I’ve never seen it.”
Gakpo and Salah have scored just ten Premier League goals between them this season, while Federico Chiesa continues to struggle to force his way into Arne Slot’s plans, having been used mostly as a late substitute during the campaign.
As a result, Slot & co are determined to sign a new player in the summer transfer window, and have now sent an inquiry into the contract of Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, who is also being targeted by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Liverpool did not get the answer they expected, as Bayern have no interest in letting Olise go, and the player himself does not want to leave the Allianz Arena, where he remains under contract until 2029.
The Reds are looking to bring in a long-term replacement for Salah, and the Frenchman is seen as a good fit, but it seems that agreeing a deal could be very difficult.

The 24-year-old has been instrumental in Bayern Munich’s push for the Bundesliga title and European glory this season, netting a whopping 38 goals in all competitions.

With an average FotMob match rating of 8.16 in the Bundesliga, the goalscorer is the second best player in Bayern’s squad, behind only Harry Kane, and has created eight more chances than any other player.
Hailed as a “wonderful footballer” by content creator George Benson, the 13-time French international has featured heavily on the right, suggesting he could replace Salah, but is also capable of playing in an attacking midfield.
