Israel recently shared intelligence with the United States indicating that Iran has developed a new plan to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to a Wall Street Journal report Thursday citing people familiar with the matter.
The intelligence reports will mark an escalation of long-standing threats against Trump, with Iran repeatedly vowing to retaliate for the 2020 US strike that killed General Qassem Soleimani of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The White House referred Fox News Digital to Trump’s comments Wednesday when asked about the report.

“They want to take out the leader of the US – me. I’m on any list. I saw this morning I’m on each of their lists. And so far, I think I’ve been a little lucky, but maybe that doesn’t last very long. These bad, sick people. And we have to end that cancer. That cancer. You know what you’re doing? You have to stop the cancer at the beginning.
Fox News Digital also contacted the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Iranian Mission to the United Nations for comment.
The Journal reported that the intelligence comes as Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been at loggerheads in recent weeks over how to proceed following last month’s tensions with Iran. Netanyahu has encouraged continued military pressure on Tehran, while Trump has sought to preserve the fragile ceasefire after the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Iranian mourners at the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei chanted for Trump’s death and displayed a banner reading, “We will kill Trump,” according to the Journal.
Iran has publicly vowed years of revenge against Trump for the US operation that killed Soleimani, the former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, in Baghdad in January 2020.
