Guardians fear Raskin’s exit now inevitable as Real Betis prepare for big move

It’s been a tumultuous summer at Ibrox so far. Rangers wasted no time in getting down to business by signing Lawrence Shankland, before welcoming Hearts manager Derek McInnes to accompany the Tynecastle captain.

Since then, the new manager has also welcomed his first signing in the form of Ross McCrorie. The right-back replaces James Tavernier in the round, who was once a young star in Glasgow.

The defender expressed his delight after completing his comeback, telling the Rangers website: “I really enjoyed it in England, it was the top league, but the only way I was going back to Scotland was with Rangers.

“Getting this opportunity was my dream, and I’m busy to continue. At that time, I had to leave, for me it was part of my development, I had to go and experience something new, to play in a team and try to improve myself as a player and a character, and it was a good experience and a good learning curve.”

McInnes also welcomed his new signing, saying: “Ross is someone I signed for Aberdeen from Rangers, and at the time he wanted to go out and prove himself, which I think means a lot to him.

“He’s developed and improved as a player, he’s got more experience, he’s a full international, and he knows the team inside out.”

McCrorie is set to be an excellent signing and while further additions are expected at Ibrox before the end of the summer, they could face their first bad news of the summer, courtesy of one star.

Real Betis are ready to offer the Rangers star

As reported by Spanish outlet ElDesmarque, as relayed by Ibrox News, Real Betis are now considering an offer to sign Nicolas Raskin this summer, taking out their Belgian fundraising team.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini has already given it his stamp of approval and that’s bad news for Rangers.

Those at Ibrox now believe Raskin’s exit is very likely despite his initial reluctance to cash in.

The midfielder’s exit will have a big impact on McInnes. He will be losing one of his best players before he even steps into the tech scene, and has received a lot of praise in recent years.

That said, every player has a price and if Real Betis or any other striker can reach the reported price of £20m, then the Gers are likely to cash in.

Why the Rangers should trade Raskin

No one can deny Raskin’s quality. Technically, he is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership. But is that enough to get the Rangers out of the money?

The Belgian is not at the level required to build around. Instead, he is someone the Gers can move on to fund other areas at a good time.

With £20m ready to spend, the 49ers could give McInnes their full backing and finally turn Rangers into a club ready to topple Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership. It’s quite a sacrifice, but it should finally happen this summer.
