But that’s where we are with Grand Theft Auto 6, which is coming out this year, and if the rumors are true, the game’s previous commands are just around the corner.
Calling GTA 6 the most anticipated game doesn’t do it justice. It’s been over a decade since GTA 5 was released, and after many delays, the latest entry in the GTA franchise is on the way. Will GTA 6 be the greatest game ever created? Who knows, but the excitement will reach fever pitch as the year progresses.
What is the GTA 6 release date?
GTA 6 is expected to be released in the meantime Nov. 19, 2026. This game was organized a 2025 releasebut it was twice delayed, so that a May 2026 release, then to November.
Is GTA 6 available for pre-order?
GTA 6 is not yet available for pre-order, although rumors suggest that it is soon. On May 13, a Reddit thread covered several social media posts for the game’s pre-order email campaign starting May 18 at Best Buy. Insider Gaming reported that it has verified with affiliates that the emails are genuine.
The GTA6Alerts X account posted on Thursday some code and an image from the Rockstar Games website that shows details about the call to action for pre-orders.

Rockstar did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the May 18 pre-order date.
There is further speculation that, along with the pre-orders, a new trailer for the game will be released.
What platforms will GTA 6 be available on?
So far, GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles. GTA 6 will probably come out on PC, but it won’t launch. There is currently no word on GTA 6 coming to Switch 2.

The typical price for big budget games is $70, but there have been speculations that GTA 6 could cost more. There is even some experts estimate it could cost up to $100.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO and chairman of Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, said last June that players would get the experience “at a fair price.” A possible scenario is that GTA 6 can cost $80, the price that Nintendo used before the release of Mario Kart World for Switch 2.

The setting of GTA 6 is the state of Leonida, a fictional version of Florida. It will include some time in and around the big city, including the coast and wetlands. The star of the show will be the return to Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami.
