Fabrizio Romano confirms that Mateus Fernandes will choose Man Utd on one condition

Fabrizio Romano has launched a major update on Manchester United’s pursuit of West Ham United star Mateus Fernandes this summer.
The Red Devils have already agreed a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta to begin rebuilding the midfield, but they are still looking to add to the Brazilian in the coming months.
As such, a number of names have entered their radar. Elliot Anderson looked to be the star player for a long time, only Manchester City went ahead of Man United.
Whether those at Old Trafford would have wanted to reach the asking price of Nottingham Forest, which is reported to be around £120m, is also questionable. After all, that would make Anderson the most expensive signing ever.

That higher asking price opened the door to other options. It has forced the Red Devils to look at players like Felix Nmecha, who is enjoying a high-quality World Cup with Germany, and another big money option in England.

Romano confirms the star is ready to join Man Utd
Anderson is not the only familiar face on the Old Trafford chiefs’ radar. Fernandes is another, and now there has been an important update in the pursuit of the Red Devils.
According to Romano, Fernandes will agree to Man United’s personal terms if they are the first club to reach an agreement with West Ham, who want more than £85m.
“The feeling is who will bring the best offer to West Ham – they start at £85m to get probably more, because they believe that every day more clubs enter the race.
“The team that will come with a good proposal to West Ham will be able to close the deal with the player.”
While £85m is a hefty fee for the Championship side, West Ham are well aware of Man United’s midfield rebuilding and Fernandes will solve Michael Carrick’s problem in that department.

As a duo, Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo will provide a good foundation for next season. Both are expert passers without sacrificing defensive work. Given that they are both still 21 years old, too, Man United could solve their midfield woes for the next decade by signing Fernandes.
