Errol Spence Jr. Predicts Quick Finish As Tim Tszyu Targets Career-Defining Victory

Errol Spence Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs) and Tim Tszyu (27-3, 18 KOs) left little doubt about their intentions at Thursday’s final press conference, both predicting victory ahead of Saturday’s super welterweight main event at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena. Spence held his own to end the fight early, and Tszyu said the timing couldn’t be better to defeat one of boxing’s most famous players.

The fight marks Spence’s first fight since losing to Terence Crawford in 2023 and gives Tszyu the opportunity to pick up the biggest win of his career in front of his home crowd. The winner immediately solidifies his position in the 154-pound title picture.

Spence expects an endless challenge but believes he is prepared for it.

“I’m going to get the best Tim Tszyu. He’s trained hard and he’s focused. He knows his back is against the wall. So he has to bring everything.”

The former United welterweight champion has dismissed concerns about his return, saying he is focused on making sure something is true for himself rather than responding to outside criticism.

“Of course there are many questions about how I will come back, I am ready and I have been training hard.

Spence also predicted that the competition would not reach the final bell.

“I will make a great plan. We will both come and fight and I assure you it will be over soon.”

Tszyu welcomed the event from the moment the fight was signed, calling it the biggest night Australian boxing has had in recent years. Facing Spence in Sydney is an opportunity he believes he has been building towards throughout his career.

“Years ago I remember watching Spence when I was fighting in smaller places. Here it is years later and I’m doing what I always wanted to do. I get to fight a legend who came to Australia. I have a lot of confidence that I will beat him.”

The former world champion also made it clear that he is chasing more than victory.

“I want to hit him everywhere with my power. It’s not personal, but I want to make this his last fight. Yes.”

Saturday’s event headlines No Limit Boxing’s Amazon Prime pay-per-view from the Afterpay Arena in Sydney. Fans in Australia can watch the Main Event on Kayo Sports, while Prime Video, DAZN PPV, cable and satellite providers will carry the event internationally.

The co-main event sees Stephen Fulton Jr. facing Liam Wilson, while Ahmad Reda meets Paul Fleming and Callum Peters boxes Ivan Actis.
