Brady Tkachuk Frustrated Answering Frequent Trade Rumor Questions

Brady Tkachuk Committed to Ottawa Senators

Reporter 1: “Brady, there’s been a lot of talk about your future since the series ended. Is that something you plan to discuss with Steve Staios this summer?”

Brady Tkachuk: “Yeah, I mean, of course, I wasn’t here at everyone’s meetings the other day, so I didn’t have a chance to talk to Steve, but I mean, I feel like I’ve answered this hundreds of times, that there’s nothing that I haven’t shown, I’ve never said. I’m fully committed to this team, to the city and it’s just been a distraction, a concern to deal with.

Rumors and Noise Will Only Be Heard of Brady Tkachuk

Reporter 2: “Is that a question? Is that a conversation you need to have? Obviously, you have two years left on your contract. Your team is in the competition window now. If you sign an extension, obviously that extends that window, but obviously you realize that if you ultimately decide to leave, if that happens, it could affect the team’s competition window.”

Brady Tkachuk: “I mean that’s just the things that I have, like me, I want to talk to Steve. And I know that we will talk, and he just left the U18S, and just to talk about our regular conversations, usually at the end of the year. About our team and what he thinks and what he thinks about my personal game. we can progress there, and all the other things that disturb us.

Tkachuk Likes Senators’ Guidance

Reporter 3: “In general, what do you think about the direction this team is taking, and how much do you want to be a part of that?”

Brady Tkachuk: “I think, I mean, everything is reduced a lot the way the playoffs go. But I think in the grand scheme of things, there’s a lot that we went through as a team and how we handled adversity, I thought, and I was really proud of that.

NHL rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Brady Tkachuk

Where you can easily make excuses, throw in the towel, and say that an injury happened, or this happened, the fact that we did all that work and got into this position was right. The goal was to get into the play-offs. But at the end of the day, we didn’t get what we really wanted, and that’s the Stanley Cup. And obviously, that’s a relief. That worries me, and it frustrates me because all I want to do is win the Stanley Cup.”

Tkachuk Focuses On Development As Extension Talk Hasn’t Happened Yet

Reporter 4: “You have a year left to consider an extension. What do you have to see in the team to have those discussions about why you’re re-signing?”

NHL Rumors: Brady Tkachuk Still Committed to Ottawa Senators

Brady Tkachuk: “I’m just thinking about myself, I mean, the talk of an extension is fine. I mean, like you said, there’s a year left, so that’s something you can’t do anytime physically. So for me, talking to Steve when we have a conversation, like I said, where he looks at our team, what he thinks we need to improve, not just as a player, and what I need to improve, just as a player, and not a player that I know. Obviously, it’s nice to hear the thoughts of Steve and where he thinks we can improve.

Tkachuk Doesn’t Get Why Trade Rumors Are Constant

Reporter 5: “Brady, and you’ve already said this, like you’ve said hundreds of times, how much you love this Ottawa market and everything. I’m just curious, like, why do you think there’s so much noise about that, you know? Do you ever think about that?”

Brady Tkachuk: “I mean, honestly, I don’t really get why it’s a consistent thing. And it’s happened so many times personally, and it’s frustrating. Like I said, it’s just frustrating that I have to answer something that’s never been said in my mouth. It hasn’t been said since the team, and I feel like I’ve just answered it but I feel like I’ve answered it. It’s frustrating.”
