Andy Reid on whether Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding is a distraction: ‘I can’t talk about it’
The wedding of the century. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and singer Taylor Swift. Rumors abound as to when and where it will take place. Although, it is possible that it will happen before the start of the 2026 NFL season to avoid disrupting the Chiefs’ schedule.
Kelce, who will turn 37 in the middle of the season, is looking to bounce back from a down season. While his yards per catch increased from 2024 to 2025, the 76 receptions were his lowest total since 2015, his first full season as a starter in Kansas City.

His catch percentage also dipped below his career average, and his 46 catches that led to a setback were his lowest number since 2015. It’s no secret that Kelce is nearing the end of his NFL career. And with the upcoming marriage, to one of the most famous women in the world, it is understandable if his head is in a different place.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said this in a press conference recently, and whether he will attend the event.

“I can’t talk about it, I can’t talk about it,” Reid joked to reporters, per ESPN. “Listen, [Kelce’s] I’ve been here most of the season, if not all season. He did mandatory camp and did a good job there, so it’s good to get him back and rolling. He’s very happy.”
Reid also said that Kelce might be able to avoid distractions because, well, Taylor Swift probably handles most of the planning.

“You don’t see the things that interfere with that and the marriage. If it was like when I got married, my wife did everything. I just followed her lead in it. [and] he appeared. Maybe he does a lot, but he seems very focused on the job here, too. “
Chiefs practice is expected to begin in late July, as they move into the pre-season and regular season. Kansas City’s first preseason game comes at home against the Los Angeles Rams on Aug. 15, before a division matchup against the Denver Broncos to open the year at Arrowhead on Sept. 14. Kelce will likely be a married man by then, though, given who he’s marrying, that won’t stop the questions.
