Amazon Prime Day Echo Alexa works in 2026: What to expect

TL;DR: Amazon is using its first Prime Day hub to showcase its new Alexa + ecosystem, but all first-party Echo devices are listed at full retail price. Stop shopping until June 23 or check out live sales on Sonos and Bose gear.
It’s only June 8, but Amazon is pushing its Prime Day sales hard (as it does every year, although it feels like the sales start earlier and earlier each time). The company is using blue banners to make it look like the event has started, but if you look at the actual price tags, you’ll see all Echo devices are still listed at their original list price. (Other items on the site are for sale, not this one.)
Prime Day is just around the corner: Here are 20+ prime deals to start shopping now
Instead of offering discounts, Amazon is using this first window to attract customers to the site and get eyes on its new AI assistant, Alexa +. While access is included for free with Prime, non-subscribers will eventually have to pay $19.99 per month for the regular plan.
To help you organize your shopping cart ahead of time, here’s a quick breakdown of what these full-priced devices will do right now and how much we expect them to drop once sales officially begin:
Smart displays to watch
-
Amazon Echo Show 11: Amazon Echo Show 11 is the new model of Amazon’s Echo Show, so we can’t wait big discount on this one, but it was listed for $169.99 on May 1, so if you’re looking for a new smart display, there’s still hope. Currently, it is still listed at its full retail price of $219.99.
-
Amazon Echo Hub: Right now, the Amazon Echo Hub will run you $179.99. But, if you’re patient, we expect it to drop by $60 when sales begin. It went down to $119.99 during Amazon’s October Prime Day sale last year, so $60 is the minimum we expect for a discount.
Smart speakers and bedside clocks
-
Amazon Echo Dot Max: The Amazon Echo Dot Max is still sitting at the full retail price of $99.99, but like the Amazon Echo Show 11, it got a big price drop on May 1. We expect to see this device drop to $74.99 during the sale to match the previous low.
-
Location of Amazon Echo: The Amazon Echo Spot is full price at $79.99 right now, so we advise you to wait. We’ve seen previous iterations of this clock go as low as $44.99 during past savings events, which is the best value for a bedside display.
-
Amazon Echo Pop Kids: The Amazon Echo Pop Kids cartoon apps are stuck at $49.99 for now. These models usually go up to half off during the original global sale, so stick around for the $24.99 mark.
What can you buy on sale today
If only i can’t wait until June 23 to buy a smart speaker, there are several Alexa-enabled devices currently on sale, including:
Mashable Specials
By signing up, you agree to receive recurring SMS marketing messages from Mashable Deals to the number provided. Message and data rates may apply. Up to 2 messages/day. Answer STOP to exit, HELP to get help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
The key takeaway here is not to let the early advertising banners rush you into paying full retail price for an Echo speaker. Bookmark your favorites, build your cart, and wait for the company’s first real price reduction to drop later this month.
