A WNBA coach is expected to kneel the mob that is fake outraged by Angel Reese’s racism claim.

Sage Steele: WNBA mistreats production talent Caitlin Clark
‘Sage Steele Show’ host Sage Steele says the WNBA is mistreating production talent Caitlin Clark. Steele criticizes the inefficiency of the league, which has led to many mistakes for Clark and other players this season. She insists that this continued neglect risks losing the WNBA’s growing fanbase.
In the worst move in the history of the season, Toronto Tempo coach Sandy Brondello issued an apology to Angel Reese after the Internet — and Reese — accused him of using a racist term during Friday’s game.
Late in the fourth quarter of Atlanta’s 111-92 victory, Reese and Tempo forward Nyara Sabally collided, with Sabally suffering a rib injury but ultimately being called for a shooting foul. Finally he had to be helped in court.
While on the ground, Brondello came forward to plead his case to the authorities, and a hot microphone captured part of the conversation.

It was then that Brondello called Reese a “protected breed,” which sent the WNBA world into a frenzy because, of course, it was considered racist.
Reese later referred to her as X, responding to a text that accused Brondello of calling her a “Black woman of sorts” with, “ARE WE SURPRISED?!” while also tagging Brondello in the post.
The WNBA continues to be a useless league
“Angel, I’m sorry. Last night, in the emotions of a moment after the injury of Nyara, I used a speech that I should not have used, and I am fully responsible for that,” said Brondello on Saturday afternoon in a long social media post. “My frustration was with the manager, but my words rubbed you the wrong way. I also understand that my words had more impact than I intended, especially for the Black women in our league, and I’m very sorry for that.
“I have spent my career competing, training and learning from amazing Black women. I regret that my words have hurt a community that I deeply respect. I have the utmost respect for you as an athlete and as a person, and I deeply apologize to you, my colleagues, and the Dream organization for my comments.”
Good grace. It’s all amazing. Pandering. A sign of beauty. It’s fake-anger. Bending the knee to the crowd.
REPUBLICAN LAWYERS REPEAL WNBA COMMISSIONER CATHY ENGELBERT TO PROTECT CAITLIN CLARK
It’s straight out of the WNBA playbook, and it’s very troubling.

No, Sandy Brondello shouldn’t have apologized. What world are we living in here? Calling someone a “protected type” is not discrimination.
In fact, it’s a sports phrase that’s been around forever. Forever.
Patrick Mahomes is a protected type, because defenders cannot touch him with impunity.
Tom Brady was a protected animal.
LeBron James is a protected species.
Apparently, Brondello encountered certain players receiving certain calls. Duh. He didn’t reinvent the wheel with this name, folks. Coaches and players have been accusing other players of receiving preferential treatment for DECADES now. That’s what the name means, and everyone knows it.
Above all, Brondello knows it. However, he chose to bow to the crowd because Angel Reese wrote about it and sold a dangerous claim. A false claim.

Here’s the bottom line: Angel Reese is black, and the internet has selective ears. So, someone posts — out of context, mind you — that he’s been called a “species,” and Reese sells the narrative by retweeting it with a sarcastic comment and a funny emoji.

Angel Reese played the victim card well here, and Sandy Brondello joined right in.
A league that doesn’t care.
