Amid the flurry of cases and cases, investigations and prosecutions, one thing is clear:

It’s good to be a lawyer in the Trump era.

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS: WHY MANY AMERICANS ARE SICK OF THE NEWS – ESPECIALLY THE TRUMP NEWS

A judge recently dismissed a lawsuit that tried to force Hunter Biden to register with the Department of Justice as a foreign agent for Ukraine and China. The case was brought by a group established by a senior official in the White House, Stephen Miller, which was found to be ineffective.

The former president’s son needed a lawyer – as he did during the trial that led to his guilty plea, until his father broke his word and forgave him.

The DOJ plans to ask the Supreme Court to intervene in Trump’s request for an $83 million judgment in a defamation lawsuit brought by author E. Jean Carroll. He needed a lawyer. Trump is represented by lawyers from the Department of Justice, which is often seen operating as his private firm. His request could end his case.

And, of course, he needed lawyers when he was out of office and under investigation for four crimes.

Washington has long been a magnet for law graduates, given the massive expansion of federal agencies, Capitol Hill staff and lobbying groups.

But it was never like this.

Trump needed lawyers to defend him when he was impeached on two counts – and the House investigative committees also have lawyers.

The president filed a lawsuit against the fired FBI official, James Comey, who had to hire a lawyer until the case was dropped in court. Now Trump has filed a second indictment–over the 86*47 seashell photo–and Comey needs a lawyer again. The same goes for New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose case was also dismissed.

Trump announced yesterday that “crazy” Hakeem Jeffries was “indicted for INCITING VIOLENCE,” apparently in reference to the minority leader’s remarks related to the third assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Jeffries had called for a “big fight,” which he described as an attempt to win more seats in the redistricting battles.

Trump has sued the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, CBS and ABC, among other media outlets, which require serious legal representation.

It’s not just Trump. When FCC Chairman Brendan Carr announced a review of local station licenses tied to Disney/ABC — shortly after calling for Jimmy Kimmel’s firing — he created an opening for more billable hours. A review could take years and is unlikely to be successful.

FBI Director Kash Patel has filed a $250-million lawsuit against The Atlantic for a negative profile questioning his conduct in the office and alleged drinking habits — but not a shred of classified information.

Two members of the House resigned due to allegations of sexual misconduct, Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales – rather than face certain expulsion – the legal advice they really needed.

A third, Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, resigned after being convicted of stealing $5 million in FEMA funds.

But doing evil is not necessary. The DOGE had lawyers. Think tanks have lawyers. Unions have lawyers. Environmental groups have lawyers.

Big Tech giants, increasingly close to the Trump administration, have upped their legal game in Washington.

The fired Labor Secretary, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, is being investigated by the department’s inspector general.

Trump keeps firing prosecutors he deems less violent and replacing them with new attorneys.

Opposition parties have sued to stop allowing email access to the abortion pill mifepristone, but have so far failed to get anything other than an interim procedural ruling from the Supreme Court.

Then there are the endless complaints that drag on in seemingly endless rounds.

The District of Columbia is a place where everyone wants something. And that usually requires legitimate firepower.
