At last year’s US Women’s Open, Nelly Korda came incredibly close to winning the tournament for the first time in her career. In the end, Korda settled in T2 behind 2025 winner Maja Stark.

But if there’s any season where Korda has a shot at retaining the US Women’s Open title, it’s this one. As the LPGA’s top players begin the second major of the year today at the Riviera, Korda has already won more honors in 2026. He has won three times, including his third major title at the Chevron Championship. He also placed second three times.

You read that right. In just seven races in 2026, Korda finished outside the top two just once.

In Thursday’s opening round, World No. 1 starts to set his sights on a major victory for number 4 and the second leg of the single-season Grand Slam.
