The £60m star, who is set to join Tottenham, really wants to play under De Zerbi

Tottenham are preparing for the biggest rebuild in the club’s recent history after avoiding relegation and ending a disastrous Premier League campaign in 17th place.
Roberto De Zerbi’s late-season arrival helped stabilize the situation enough for Spurs to survive, but now major changes are expected at the club this summer.
The club’s chief executive Vinai Venkatesham recently admitted that Tottenham needed a “reset” after years of football collapsing behind the scenes.
Recruitment programs are gaining momentum.
Spurs are set to bring in experienced defenders such as Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi as De Zerbi looks to improve a backline that has struggled throughout the campaign.

Tottenham have held talks to sign the record-breaker with Liverpool’s official offer made
Spurs are one of the many top-flight sides to be excited about.
Robertson, who will leave Liverpool this summer, is seen as a potential addition to the leadership, while Sensi’s Premier League experience makes him an attractive option.
There are also growing rumors about more attacking additions as De Zerbi tries to remake Tottenham into a team more suited to his aggression-based system.
The Italian coach is believed to be looking for quick wide players who can press hard and attack defenders one-on-one – something Spurs have often lacked in their difficult season and injury nightmares.
One name that is now very much back in the frame is Man City winger Savinho.
Savinho prepared to join Tottenham and De Zerbi is a big deal
According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, the Brazilian is ready to join Tottenham and is very attracted by the opportunity to work under De Zerbi.
The report claims that the midfielder likes the idea of playing in the Italian attack and would like to leave City for Spurs in search of a bigger role.
Tottenham came close to signing Savinho last summer before City decided not to let him leave permanently.
At the time, the deal was expected to be worth around £60 million, and despite his circumstances changing slightly since then, that valuation has remained pretty much the same.
Part of the reason is Savinho’s contract situation.
The Brazilian has signed a new long-term deal with City until 2025, strengthening the club’s position in negotiations and making any move expensive despite his inconsistent game time this season.
Savinho’s campaign at City has been mixed.
The midfielder showed flashes of the direct pace and creativity that made him a standout player at Girona, but struggled to become a proven starter under Pep Guardiola.
Competition for places for City’s top players has limited his opportunities, and there is a growing belief that he may need a move to continue his continued development at the highest level.
This is where Tottenham believe they can offer something attractive.
De Zerbi’s reputation for developing attacking players remains strong following his stints at Brighton and Marseille, and Spurs may feel that his tactical approach would suit Savinho’s strengths.
The Brazilian thrives in open areas, prefers to receive the ball early in transitions and is especially dangerous when isolated against full-backs — all traits that suit De Zerbi’s attacking style.
Tottenham’s biggest problem may be cost.
Even after their survival, Spurs are not in financial comfort following a very disappointing season.
Reports have already suggested that several current players could leave to help fund incoming deals, and spending £60million on another player would still represent a huge commitment.
However, the fact that Savinho is now open to a move gives Tottenham an incentive.
