Leeds are considering sacking Farke to take on Crystal Palace as the new manager

Leeds United are considering parting ways with Daniel Farke this summer before spending money on new signings, and the battle will be with fellow relegated Crystal Palace.

Leeds are planning a summer spree after Buonanotte’s struggle

A report from Mike Keegan of The Daily Mail shared details about the plans of 49ers Enterprises for Leeds in the coming years, the American owners are determined to look at the Premier League table rather than put it on their shoulder.

Indeed, Keegan reports that the Leeds boss are hoping to spend around £100m on new signings this summer after their one January signing, Facundo Buonanotte, failed to make an impact.

“It’s always important not to get carried away by what’s expected of a player,” Farke said of Buonanotte’s struggles ahead of the clash with Aston Villa.

Sometimes you bring a new player excitement and high expectations. This is the message I gave him when he arrived.

“We haven’t signed him to improve our 11 immediately. We signed him to improve the depth in our squad. We allowed Jack Harrison and Harry Gray to go out on loan. We spoke openly with Facundo about it. We want to make sure we keep the pressure on our other options.”

The Brighton youngster was withdrawn at half-time in his only start for Leeds, and with no other option to make the deal permanent, he is expected to return to the South Coast this summer.

In his place, Leeds plan to spend around $100m to improve the squad, with a new goalkeeper and marquee striker the main areas of focus, but it remains to be seen whether Farke will be there to lead that charge.

Leeds will battle Crystal Palace for a new manager

The 49ers have aggressive plans for Leeds over the next few years, and with a year left on Farke’s contract they could decide to replace the man in the hole before the summer rebuild.

Farke has a major say in signings at the moment, but is yet to start talks over a contract extension, leading the owners to consider terminating the contract with 12 months to go.

Football FanCast sources understand that their decision could be influenced by the fact that they expect to buy in the same manager market as Crystal Palace, who will soon part ways with Oliver Glasner.

Both clubs believe a young, attack-minded manager is needed to take their clubs to the next level, with former RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose one of the names shortlisted.

Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness is another name being considered, but the 43-year-old will be very difficult to lure as his side sit in the top four of the Bundesliga.
