New details are beginning to emerge in the death of Kyle Busch as the NASCAR world is still in shock

Kyle Busch died Thursday at the age of 41, becoming the first active NASCAR driver to die since Dale Earnhardt in 2001.
Busch’s family released a statement a few hours before his death, saying the two-time World Cup winner would miss Sunday’s race in Charlotte after being hospitalized with a “serious illness”. Busch died Thursday afternoon, with no cause of death given.
The Associated Press has since reported that Busch passed out in the Chevy simulator on Wednesday and was taken to a Charlotte hospital. Sources confirmed that timeline with OutKick and Fox News.
NASCAR called Busch a “future Hall of Famer” and a “rare talent” in a release Thursday evening.

“His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of all ages, creating a proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation’.”

Kyle Busch’s last NASCAR win was a week ago today
Busch was a two-time Cup champion and future Hall of Famer. He has been in the Cup Series since 2004, making 762 starts with 63 wins. Busch won the championship in 2015 and 2019, and had 234 victories in all national NASCAR series.
He holds the all-time record for wins in both the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (102) and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (69).

His most recent win came last Friday at Dover, where he led 147 laps in a dominant Truck Series victory.
“You never know when the last one will be,” Busch said after the win.
The 41-year-old made his mark in NASCAR during his time with Joe Gibbs Racing, where he spent most of his career and won two championships. Busch left JGR for Richard Childress Racing after the 2022 season, as well he won three times in his time the first season.

His last Cup Series win is in June 2023. While he struggled for most of this season, Busch started on the pole in February’s 2020 Daytona 500 and was coming off his eighth season finish two weeks ago at Watkins Glen.
Busch’s dramatic death is NASCAR’s second heartbreaking loss in the past six months. Former Cup driver Greg Biffle He died in a plane crash last December, along with his wife and two children.
