Aston Villa are eyeing a deal for the £200,000-a-week star Emery is keen to join.

Aston Villa are now planning a move for the new striker, who has been hailed as “fantastic” by manager Unai Emery.

Villa are on the lookout for new signings after a “fantastic” end to the season

Villa ended their long wait for a trophy by lifting the Europa League, while they also secured fourth place in the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Manchester City on the final day, leaving Emery very impressed.

The 54-year-old said: “Very good, outstanding. The way we finished the season, and the Premier League is the most important and the most important.

“We finished in fourth place, we reached the next year in Europe and the Champions League and we beat other teams at the beginning (who were) competing more than us to be here.

“Congratulations to the players, congratulations to the club, to all the staff. Congratulations to the fans too, they were here on the field.”

Emery could not have dreamed of a better season, and having secured a return to the Champions League, the former Villarreal boss has been handed a £100m war chest, with Harvey Barnes among the attacking targets.

However, the Villans are on the lookout for another Premier League star, with Emery highly touted.

The villa plans to move forward “amazingly” ahead

According to a report from Sports Boom, Aston Villa are now exploring a deal for Manchester United midfielder Jadon Sancho, who spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Villa Park, and was praised by Emery at the time.

When asked if he had made a decision about Sancho’s future in February, the Villa boss said: “Not yet, but he is an amazing player. If he plays his football at his best, we will want him, but other teams would also be interested in him.”

Crystal Palace, AFC Bournemouth and Brentford are also interested in signing the £200k-a-week Englishman, whose current contract expires this summer, while Man United have no interest in signing him.

The 26-year-old would ‘like’ to extend his stay at Villa Park, despite not playing a key role during his loan spell, picking up two assists in 23 Premier League appearances, and failing to score.

Jadon Sancho’s Premier League stats

  • 873 minutes played

  • 0 goals

  • 2 site

  • 3 shots on target

  • 16 successful dribbles

  • 42.4% duels won

  • 13% successful crosses

Although the 23-time England international appeared for just ten minutes in last month’s 4-3 win over Sunderland, there was debate over whether he was at fault for the visitors’ two goals, raising doubts over whether he should be signed permanently.
