President Donald Trump on Saturday said the US and Israeli forces had “wiped out” Iran’s military, air force and most of its missile power in just one week of war, declaring the regime’s forces “absolutely non-existent” as he continued to press Tehran to surrender a “very safe world.”

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the president said the massive attack had exceeded expectations, noting that Iran’s navy “is now under the sea.”

“We’ve wiped out their Navy – 44 ships. We’ve wiped out their air power – all the planes. We’ve wiped out most of their missiles – you see their missiles don’t get very far anymore,” Trump said.

He added that military strikes have hit missile production facilities “very hard,” and the country’s drone capabilities are “very low.”

The president said he wanted “unconditional surrender” from Iran, explaining the term to mean “they cry uncle, or when they can no longer fight.”

“Or there is no one to complain to, uncle, because we ended their leadership many times,” he continued. “If they surrender, even if no one will surrender, but they are rendered useless in terms of the military. [capabilities].”

Discussing the alleged brutality of the regime, Trump said the war has been going on for 47 years and “no president has had the courage to do it.”

“They’re talking about the worst people who ever lived on Earth,” he said. “They cut children’s heads off. They cut women in half. Look at October 7th, look at what they’ve done in the last 47 years. … If this ends, we’ll have a much safer world.”

Despite concerns about rising gas prices earlier, Trump said he is not worried.

“They’re going to go down very quickly, and we’ll be rid of a big, big cancer from the face of the earth,” the president said. “We will have found cancer. … What we are doing is a very good thing, not only in our country, not only in Israel, not only in the Middle East, but in the whole world.”

It remains unclear whether ground troops will be sent to protect uranium-enriched Iranian nuclear sites from targets by coalition forces, although the president has described the attack as “total annihilation.”

“They couldn’t get to it, and at some point, maybe we will,” he said. “It would be a good thing, but for now, we’re getting rid of them. We didn’t follow through, though [it’s] something we can do later.”

Trump concluded by calling the war a “little journey” that would ultimately make the world a safer place.

“If this ends, we’ll have a much safer world, you know, so, you know, this is a little trip,” he said. “And we will have fired many sick and disabled people, the leadership. So we eliminated one leadership. We removed the second level of leadership. Now they are in that third or fourth level of leadership. And they have leaders now and no one knows who they are.”
