Spurs stars Solanke and Simons were accused of leaving their teammate out to dry

Tottenham’s relegation fears increased after a 2-1 defeat at Fulham saw them suffer their fourth successive Premier League defeat.
Tottenham are facing the prospect of relegation
Spurs suffered their second defeat under interim manager Igor Tudor, who switched to a back four for the London derby but watched his faltering side fall behind after seven minutes.
Harry Wilson scored for the 10th time this season, but Tottenham were furious that Raul Jimenez’s push on Radu Dragusin was not punished.
Fulham doubled their advantage in the 34th minute when former Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi fired home from distance to leave the visitors with a huge fightback.
Spurs substitute Richarlison pulled one back after 65 minutes, but a late rally could not stop the club’s Premier League winless run to a record-equalling 10th game with the 16th-placed outfit just four points off the bottom three.
Tudor moved away from their preferred 3-4-2-1 formation and went with four players at the back, but Spurs conceded after seven minutes.
Wilson had scored in the sixth minute of the November meeting and punished Tottenham again when Oscar Bobb’s ball found the Welsh international, who fired in a half volley.
The visitors were angered by Jimenez’s slight push on Dragusin, but Stockley Park VAR chair Craig Pawson decided it wasn’t enough to award a foul.
Jimenez’s touch was soft but the incident was strikingly similar to the goal Spurs striker Randal Kolo Muani conceded against Arsenal last Sunday due to a slight push.
“He (Jimenez) wasn’t thinking about the ball, he was thinking about cheating, then he cheated the player by pushing and they scored a goal. So cheating is also a mistake.” – Igor Tudor
Tudor were furious but the visitors rallied again with Joao Palhinha’s effort deflected behind before a resurgent Pedro Porro volleyed wide.
Fulham responded when Kenny Tete missed the post and Issa Diop had to save Kolo Muani.
The game is in the balance, Iwobi’s brilliance has tipped the scales in favor of the west London club.
After a one-two with Wilson, Iwobi produced a superb first-time effort into the bottom corner in the 34th minute to stun Tottenham.
Yves Bissouma and Dragusin spurned chances to reduce the deficit before the break, but it could have been 3-0 had Calvin Bassey not converted in the first half.
Worse than Dragusin: Spurs flop who made just 2 passes must not start again
This Tottenham Hotspur flop that was worse than Radu Dragusin must not start again.
Fulham stayed on top after the break and should have scored again when Bobb played in Emile Smith Rowe, who shot wide but could have put Jimenez in to tap home.
Micky van de Ven denied Jimenez shortly before Tudor made it a treble in the 58th minute.
Pape Sarr, Mathys Tel and Richarlison were sent off and although Guglielmo Vicario had to make a crucial stop to deny Smith Rowe minutes later, Tottenham were given a lifeline with 65 on the clock at Craven Cottage.
Tel ran through the Fulham defense and played in Gray, who rose a cross behind for Richarlison to head home.
Fulham weathered an early storm behind the goal before Spurs pushed level late on.
Sarr fired a shot into the side netting but when Palhinha’s effort was blocked, the full-time whistle followed to leave Tottenham close to the relegation zone.
Gold smoke meanwhile two experienced players left Gray out to dry
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold was left angry with other senior players for their roles in Iwobi’s goal, as it seems they both simply ignored the Nigeria international and left Gray in a dangerous situation.
Calling them “bad”, the journalist said that Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke were “wrong” by neglecting to follow the runner.
He said: “Solanke started tracking Iwobi and he just said ‘nah that’s not my job’. And Xavi just said ‘nah that’s not mine either’.
“And it left poor Archie Grey, he was trying to cover one man, Archie Gray doubled up because no one was helping him.”
Simons and Solanke are two of Tottenham’s top earners and experienced internationals, so seeing the pair leave the youngster out to dry was inevitable.
