Jimmy the raccoon becomes a video game character

Jimothy crossed the streets of Seattle and climbed the stairs of the neighborhood, and now he is roaming the world of games.

The oddly shaped raccoon became an internet celebrity after Seattle resident Kiana Hall spotted him in the city’s Ballard neighborhood on July 13, 2026. Since then, his compact body, rounded back, and long legs have inspired memes, murals, tattoos, merchandise, and a growing collection of digital entertainment.

Gamers and developers have already begun recreating Jimmy across the video game and tablet worlds. And now, one of the biggest game studios is preparing to make room for him.

“You asked, Jimmy answered,” the officer said Military World The X account wrote on July 24. “Coming soon to Azeroth.”

It’s the latest step in Jimothy’s rapid transformation from local raccoon to cross-platform character.

The way Jimothy ran to play

Before Jimothy became a citizen of Azeroth, he was just a strange-looking raccoon walking under a parked car in Seattle.

Hall initially mistook the animal for a cat, then began filming when it emerged with a raccoon’s hooded face and noticeably shorter torso and neck. He named him Jimmy because, as he later explained to Today.com, he just looked like him.

The short video has collected millions of views. Experts believe that Jimothy’s appearance may be caused by a congenital spinal deformity such as short spina bifida. Despite his stressed-out appearance, the videos show him walking, climbing, getting food, and moving independently around the area.

Those physical features also made him instantly recognizable when artists began to translate him into various virtual worlds. Some redrew Jimothy in their established game art styles, while others creatively reinterpreted existing character models to reproduce his unique silhouette.

In an Old School RuneScape In tribute, Jimothy becomes a low-level raccoon who looks like he’s been roaming Gielinor. Mouse: PI for Hire took him to Mouseburg, redrawing him in the black and white rubber hose animation style of his 1930s-inspired world.

He died in Khwezi gave him a complete horror makeover with glowing features and bloody tentacles. Officer Sims the account tried to create him using a human Sim, producing a human-like character in a slightly unappealing raccoon costume.

HelloTranslation requires another creative approach. Rather than create a new model of the animal, senior community manager John Junyszek bent the Spartan on all fours and stretched its neck and feet to mimic Jimothy’s proportions.

Other images put a raccoon-like soldier near Master Chief’s escape pod in the props Halo: Combat Evolved and its The campaign appeared reorganize.

Jimothy also reached out to other worlds of many established games. Warner Bros. Games thought he had arrived in Gotham City, the teams behind Among Us again Religion of the Lamb they redesigned him to fit their visual styles.

Most of these official recommendations exist as images only. Fans and modders, however, have gone one step further by turning Jimmy into a playable character.

The fans make Jimmy playable

Artist and entrepreneur Chris Pirillo built an entire browser game around Jimmy. The four-level, NES-style game borrows elements from classic arcade titles including Frogger and the first one Donkey Kongwhich turns parts of the raccoon’s real and imagined journey into short challenges.

One level asks players to help Jimothy cross traffic, while others involve raiding trash cans, running away from paparazzi, and climbing stairs.

Fans have also included Jimmy in several popular games using mods. In Skyrimfan made additions make the character player approachable and talk to. Stardew Valley modders have created many versions, including options that allow players to keep Jimothy as a pet or buy him from Marnie as a companion.

Pits & Dragons produced one of the most detailed descriptions to date. Jimothy’s official figures refer to him as the “Lovely Cryptid” and give him abilities based on both his physical appearance and the complex stories surrounding him.

The “Compact Frame” allows Jimothy to fit into spaces less than four inches wide. “Hurl Garbage” allows him to attack enemies with garbage, dealing bludgeoning damage and poison. The stat block contains everything players need to add him to a tabletop campaign, where he can search for food, befriend settlers, or become an unexpectedly dangerous enemy.

Together, these official qualities and fan-made creations have allowed Jimothy to enter games in almost every form: artwork, character models, mods, browser games, and tabletop campaigns.

The real Jimmy is still a wild animal roaming Seattle, where wildlife officials have advised people to keep an eye on him. Their digital counterparts, however, seem much easier to approach – and collect.
