Tottenham are expected to make a £29m bid for the star and Barcelona are open to a sale
Tottenham Hotspur made some big moves in the transfer window, signing Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes to revamp their midfield.
After strengthening their options in the middle of the park, Tottenham can now look to improve other areas of the squad, and Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that they are keen to sign the striker.
Romano says: “Guys, my understandingis is the main name that should be considered by Tottenham in the positions of the winger: Cody Gakpo – but at the moment Liverpool will still open the exit doors – and Savinho. Savinho is the top target of Tottenham. These two players are considered priorities for Tottenham instead of a winger.”
Spurs are also determined to strengthen the forward, and now the door can be opened to sign FC Barcelona star Ferran Torres.
Barcelona are willing to sanction the sale of Ferran Torres
According to a report from Caught Offside, Barca are now ready to offload Torres for €35m (£29m) this summer, and he is attracting interest from the Premier League, with Spurs and Aston Villa.
In fact, the north Londoners are expected to make a bid for the Barcelona striker, who has just one year left on his contract at the Camp Nou.

Honesty |
Tottenham may need to sign a new striker, as their current options didn’t set the world alight in front of goal last season. In fact, Richarlison is the only player on the team to reach double figures in goals. |

Finance |
£29m sounds like a fee for a quality player, and Spurs were willing to spend this summer, with ENIC making waves in the transfer market. |

Understanding |
The 26-year-old was a key player in Barca’s La Liga title-winning side last season, scoring 21 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions. He also scored 24 goals in 63 games for Spain. |

Impact |
Torres is a versatile player, who has appeared on both wings and in mid-forward throughout his career. Because of this, he could challenge the likes of Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus for a place in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. |
Ferran Torres could be another statement signing for Tottenham
Having already secured the additions of Tonali and Fernandes, Torres could be another statement signing for Spurs, with Xavi of the belief that he is a top player.
The former Barcelona manager said: “Perhaps Ferran surprised me the most. He’s a player of another level, he’s amazing: the way he understands space, the links of play, he doesn’t lose the ball, his defensive work… he’s world class. He’s a great player, I wanted him, and he’s an amazing footballer.”
The Spaniard featured in all of Spain’s World Cup matches, helping Mikel Merino score a 1-0 win in the round of 16 against Portugal.
Torres has been established at Champions League level too, scoring 18 goals and six assists in 50 games in Europe’s top competition, meaning he could be the best player in De Zerbi’s attack.
