During a pre-tournament press conference at the Renaissance Club, Rory McIlroy sang golf songs for the National Opens, as he has done in the past.

Now this weekend the six-time major champion has a chance to add another National Open title to his career total.

McIlroy followed an opening round of 65 with a 66 in Friday’s second round. That left him at nine under and three games off the lead as he bid for his second career Scottish Open win.

If he can pull it off, it would be a great time. Next week McIlroy will have a chance to win his second Open Championship title and a remarkable seventh at Royal Birkdale.
