Rangers could finally sell Nico Raskin by signing the £4.8m star

Glasgow Rangers may find themselves in a position to find a replacement for Nicolas Raskin in the summer transfer window.
Despite having two years left on his contract at Ibrox, the Belgian is attracting attention from clubs in other major European leagues.
Hull City, following their promotion to the Premier League from the Championship, are one of the frontrunners to sign the midfielder this summer.
LaLiga side Real Betis are one of the most distant clubs considering him as a possibility, indicating that there are many clubs looking to land the Gers star.
He won’t come cheap to Real Betis or Hull, however, as the Scottish Premiership giants want £20m for him in the coming weeks.
Rangers are pushing to sign £4.8m star Derek McInnes
After the Belgian star produced six goals and seven assists in 33 games for the Light Blues last season, losing him would be a blow to new manager Derek McInnes.
However, the club are already working behind the scenes to bring a player who could be the next Ibrox version of Raskin to the center of the park.
According to the Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojevic in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Light Blues are now pushing to reach an agreement with the Serbian club to bring the young star to Ibrox in the coming weeks.
It adds that the club have already had a £3.8m offer rejected for the Serbia international, and that they are still negotiating with Partizan over a deal for his services.
The Daily Record points out that an extra £1m, taking the total package to £4.8m, could tempt them to cash in on Dragojevic this summer.
Why Vanja Dragojevic could be Rangers’ next Nicolas Raskin
Losing Raskin before the end of the transfer window would be a mistake for Rangers as he has proven he can perform at the highest level in the Premiership over the past few years, since his £1.5m move from Standard Liege in January 2023.
The Light Blues took a risk when they snatched him from the Belgian Pro League, not knowing how he would adapt to Scottish football, and they must take the same risk with Dragojevic.
At 20, the Serbian star will arrive at Ibrox with a lot of potential and is still years away from fulfilling it, but his performances in the 2025/26 campaign have also suggested he can make an immediate impact on the pitch.

Like Raskin, Dragojevic is a strong and complete midfielder who can contribute in all phases of the game, defensively, in transition, and offensively, as a number eight.
Although he did not average as many tackles and interceptions per game as the Belgian in the 2025/26 campaign, the youngster averaged an eye-catching 3.8 tackles per game in the Superliga in the 2024/25 season.
In nine games in his first year at this level, Dragojevic also won 53% of the games played on the ground and 69% of the games in the air, while receiving 6.6 balls per game for the Serbian team.
His performance in that term shows that he has the potential to fight like Raskin in midfield, while his contributions at the end of the pitch last season show that he can adapt to the Belgian attack.
Another aspect of his game that will attract McInnes is his leadership. Rangers will lose one of their leaders if Raskin leaves Ibrox this summer, having worn the armband during James Tavernier’s absence on several occasions.
Dragojevic is the team captain at Partizan, albeit in his second season at the age of 20, and will bring leadership skills to the club, at least once he is settled and comfortable with the language.
Therefore, Rangers could afford to sell Raskin by signing the Serbian international, who has both the footballing qualities and the leadership potential to become McInnes’ version of the next Belgian.

Now Rangers could once again sign a bigger talent than Lewis Ferguson
