FBI Director Kash Patel detailed the landmark operation that led to the arrest of more than 300 suspects in the Chicago area within 60 days.

“Operation New Dawn represents a major step by the administration under President Trump to end violent crime and crime against children in America’s biggest cities,” Patel told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.

“This was a major operation in Chicago involving 11 different federal agencies across the state that worked together to make 305 arrests and locate 24 children – many of whom were reported abducted or missing – as well as charging subjects for robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, child abuse, and more,” he added. “The success of this program and others to come through programs like Summer Heat 2.0 should be a clear message that the FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice led by AG Todd Blanche are busy dismantling criminal networks in this country wherever they are.”

In addition to the criminals, kidnappers and drug traffickers that Patel detailed, other suspects involved in this massive operation include those involved in gun smuggling, firearms offenses and immigration violations, according to a statement from the US Attorney.

The statement described the operation as “without badges,” noting that many federal agencies are cooperating “under the flag of the United States as opposed to the shield of any agency.”

U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutrot said the operation and cooperation found represented a new era of law enforcement in America.

“It is my opinion that to fight violence, law enforcement must keep up with the speed of violence,” said Boutros in a statement. “The incredible success of Operation New Dawn amply proves that point. Chicago’s Federal Anti-Violence Apparatus has united under one banner – the flag of the United States and not the shield, badge, insignia, or symbol of any agency – to make their presence felt on the streets of Chicago and to make it known that they are a force against violence.”

ATF Special Agent in Charge in Chicago, Christopher Amon, agreed.

“Law enforcement has always been a team sport, and always will be,” Amon said in a statement. “The success of Operation New Dawn reflects the leadership of the US Attorney’s Office and the trust, commitment, and cooperation among Chicago’s federal law enforcement partners. Together, we have made a meaningful impact by removing shooters and other violent offenders from our streets making Chicago safer for all.”

Cooperation has enabled agencies to sweep criminals such as Felipe Dejesus Gomez Ramirez, who HSI has identified as a convicted murderer and illegal alien.

New Dawn crews also arrested David Collins and Tyrone Thomas, who authorities say are members of the Traveling Vice Lords gang from Chicago who were involved in drug trafficking. Both were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl.
