The top seven and ten finishers. Thirteen cuts were made for 13 attempts. And about $13 million in prize money. For most golfers, that would qualify as an incredible stretch. For Scottie Scheffler, it includes a dry spell. He hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since — gasp! – January at American Express.
But the World No. 1 is in a position to change that this weekend at the Travelers. He enters Saturday’s third round atop the leaderboard, fresh off a 10-under 60 on Friday that included 11 birdies and one bogey. Scheffler is 16 under this week, two shots behind Viktor Hovland, who shot 61 on Friday, four ahead of Akshay Bhatia and Eric Cole. Cole is looking for his first tour win.
Scheffler and Hovland play in the final pairing on Saturday at 2 pm ET.
You can watch the third round of the Travelers on TV with the Golf Channel, which will air at 1pm ET. Live TV coverage on NBC begins at 3 pm ET. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide coverage beginning at 7:45 p.m. ET., with Peacock joining the broadcast at 3 pm ET.
