Montreal Canadiens Set Visuals on Blue Line Muscle for 2026-27 season

Host: “I want to leave a little window here and go to the Montreal Canadiens, because it’s draft week and there’s a lot of wheeling and dealing and behind-the-scenes talk, but it’s been quiet on the Montreal Canadiens front.

Gallo, and I talked about it, (Brendan) Gallagher might go on, maybe this week. Canadiens in talks about multiple centers that could be traded. Brady Tkachuk is a big name. What are some big names? Where are the Canadiens? How have you been, Dave?”

Dave Pagnotta: “Yes, Canadians like to be quiet. It allows them to do their business the way they want, and as much as I don’t like it, I give them credit for still being able to keep it quiet. But there, Canadians, they do a great job, and I’ve said this 1000 times already, but to repeat, they’re doing a great job Jeffing Huntastic. tabs on everything.

So if you hear the Canadiens signed Elias Pettersson, check Mason McTavish, this player and that player, and so on and so forth. It is because they make sure they understand the market place.

They know who is there, who is available, and what the price tags are. It doesn’t mean they participate in trade talks, but they keep close tabs on everything that happens.

It is no secret that they are looking for the right defender. It’s no secret that they’re looking to increase their center position, and we also know about the (Matthew) Knies deal that didn’t happen at the deadline. Which leads a lot of people to believe that hey, maybe they’re looking at that wing on the left, maybe that second row.

NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Vancouver Canucks, and Montreal Canadiens

Negotiations are apparently ongoing. I think they circle back. This is another situation. Circled back with Philadelphia. What does Rasmus Ristolainen look like? Are there other conditions available here at the Habs? Like, everything I’m saying is nothing new. Just an update that they are still testing many of these different outfits, and a lot of these big name players.

Like the Canadians they have never deviated from the plan they set. But now we’re at a level in the system there, and we’ve seen a little bit of it over the course of the season with the addition of (Phil) Danault and stuff, but they’re starting to add more pieces that are consistent and more quality pieces for this team to start taking the next steps.

Coming into the conference finals, expectations will continue to rise publicly, but the Habs will continue to do a great job of just sticking to their guns and sticking to their plan. I expect them to do one like every summer, and move, right? Every summer, they do something impactful.

Last year had a big impact by bringing in Noah Dobson. And I think they’d like to go that route again and they’re not afraid to spend money to bring someone in. It’s just a matter of who gets targeted first. And while there was a lot of searching, there was Dobson leading up to the writing, and suddenly, bam, it ended up being him. That’s the kind of direction this will probably go for the Canadiens.

NHL rumors: Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and Montreal Canadiens

We all turned to the left, and they came out to the right. About Gallagher. They’re trying to do that, and there’s been talks with a few teams, not just the Vancouver Canucks, but they’re trying to put him in a position that gives him more playing opportunities than anything. “

NHLRumors.com Note: Senior Vice President Jeff Gorton met with the media Thursday before the draft. He talked about not wanting to rush the move. He doesn’t think it’s smart for the Canadiens to move or be pressured because the teams around them have them. They will stick to their plan as they test the market. His goal is to improve the team with calculated additions.
