TaylorMade and TAG Heuer are collaborating to launch a limited edition

Sometimes the world of golf creates great collaborations, and this one is at the top of my list. TAG Heuer and TaylorMade are teaming up to release a special edition that includes a TAG-linked golf watch and a TAG Heuer edition Spider ZT putter and TaylorMade x TAG gear. Let’s see what makes the collection so special, and why this collaboration makes so much sense.
Both TaylorMade and TAG have a demonstrated history of technological advancement within their industry. For TaylorMade it has been shaping modern golf equipment from the very beginning of the introduction of the first iron wood, and the first “family” of drivers introduced together that leads to today’s TaylorMade consisting of clubs, balls, apparel and digital platforms supported by players around the world. They also put together a tour staff that boasts current World No. 1, No. 2, No. 7 (TAG and TaylorMade Ambassador Tommy Fleetwood) and No. 9.
TAG Heuer’s advancements have come from their work in chronograph engineering which has helped define their reputation for precision time. There are many parallels to be drawn between watchmaking and the world of golf. TAG says, “Golf unfolds without the pressure of the clock, yet requires constant precision and focus. Each shot produces an immediate result, while the reasons behind it often remain subtle, shaped by art and mindset. This fusion between what is felt and what is done has shaped the brand’s approach to the sport.”

The hero piece of the collaboration is the TAG Heuer x TaylorMade Caliber 45mm E5 Connected Golf Watch. As a special edition of TAG’s golf watch, the TaylorMade collaboration brings new style with a deep navy and black band that compliments the finely milled, lightweight grade 2 titanium case; the perfect combination of comfort and durability. The ceramic bezel features an 18-hole scale with the TAG logo and a TaylorMade dedicated watch face that is only available on this model. It also comes in a very cool special edition box.
The E5 Connected Golf Watch is powered by the advanced in-house TAG OS, which not only improves general health monitoring with several sensors (heart rate, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope and altimeter) but also provides direct golf tracking, including shot tracking on the course, GPS maps and the newly discovered Automatic Strokes feature. This is big on interoperability, and when I spoke to the TAG team about the new release, they considered this one of the two “can’t miss” features of the watch’s interoperability. Knowing in real-time what you’re doing well and what could use a little work as measured by strokes gained is a great way to stay up-to-date on your course performance. Another can’t miss feature? Two o’clock.
Representatives from both TaylorMade and TAG spoke highly of the watch’s sophistication off the golf course. Connected watches can sometimes feel like they’ve lost their premium sheen. Trading off technical excellence can be a difficult balance to manage, but TAG refuses to budge on what makes them such a premium offering. With the new partnership you can feel comfortable wearing it on the golf course as you can switch the watch face back to the “normal” option with the click of a button to enjoy a night on the town. Just ask shared ambassador Tommy Fleetwood.

The watch has an AMOLED touchscreen with sapphire glass and the battery can last up to three days of normal use, as well as two days of moderate guided use and seventeen hours of screen time for their sports mode, including twelve hours of dedicated golf use.
On top of the watch collaboration, there are also some good ones in the TaylorMade team collection, including what I think is probably the best rendition of the Spider ZT putter yet.

The limited edition TaylorMade x TAG Spider ZT is finished in a deep, rich navy color with silver accents and a polished chrome single plate. TAG logo alignment bug, and the bottom weights have a “clock-like” design to them as well. The putter comes with a special premium head cover and a special SuperStroke grip design. After unboxing the very TAG-inspired packaging, you’ll once again be greeted with a dual-logo ball tag as part of your purchase.
The collection also includes a select TaylorMade x TAG Heuer duffel bag, hat options, and golf glove.
The collection is available for purchase on June 25.
