Srixon introduces the new ZXi RKT on Tour drivers

Srixon has revealed its new ZXi RKT driver line-up for the Travelers Championship.
No technical information has been provided yet, and when I reached out to comment on the new plan, I got a cheery “no comment…yet” response from the team.
However, it’s my job to know how to make inferences on the machines that come out of the pictures, so let’s get into it.
Here are 3 things we know or can safely assume from photos.
1) Three models in the new family
Srixon has images of three models in the new ZXi RKT family. The LS seems to be a great pair of compact shapes that players love with two front-to-back adjustable weights for launch and swing control.
The ZXi RKT (core) has two weights for this heel-to-toe CG movement, and is possibly the most compact model in the lineup, which is a trend we’re starting to see from many OEMs. It’s interesting that they don’t have weight back on this model, though. They may use the “chassis” as a fixed weight on the rear which allows the MOI number they may be chasing to remain constant regardless of the weight from the toe and heels. We’ll have to look for information on that!
The ZXi RKT MAX only has one weight hole on the back, which makes me think it’s designed for stability and easy launching. This is a pretty standard lineup of three models, but there are some significant changes compared to the last generation of Srixon drivers.
2) They can do a lot with that carbon fiber
Srixon Golf
Compared to the last generation product, there is a significant increase in carbon fiber. Combined with each model getting a nice new “player” shape, this allows them to improve their adjustable weight. You’ll notice that the weights themselves are pushed out to the edges on each model, allowing for greater CG changes and more stability without stopping the end weight. Taking carbon fiber alone allows that weight to be moved to the edges for a higher overall MOI.
Carbon fiber unlocks more stability? Good. Carbon fiber opening stability and what looks to be the best Srixon driver ever? Amazing.
3) They face a big complaint
;)

It’s safe to say that the one general complaint or criticism of the Srixon ZXi driver range was the noise. Most of the guys on the tour are hot to deal with this, but the retail buyer doesn’t get that benefit. The ZXi stuff was a lot louder than I think most people would want, and it felt a little tighter in the face, because of that big, powerful sound. It wasn’t quite the Nike Sumo, but compared to the increased carbon fiber and overall noise reduction of other OEMs, it really stood out.
If you look closely at the pictures, there is an “Acoustico” logo on the sole. One can only assume, and hope, that this means that they have specifically targeted the sound and feel of these drivers and that they pass player testing with flying colors.
4) (BONUS) They are still strong for their boys on the Tour.

We also found four other models from Srixon on the compatible list. These are compatible with similarly named models in the past that were created for specific touring players. Hideki Matsuyama and Shane usually find something with a little tour sauce, and I’d be shocked if one of these wasn’t from Ryan Fox or Sepp Straka. Maybe someone is trying to bring a Srixon driver into JJ Spaun’s bag as well.
That ZXi RKT LS+ looks really fun.
