NHL Rumors: How Much Will the New York Rangers Do This Season?

NHL Rumors: Vincent Trocheck, Mason McTavish, and Top Picks
Host: “What about the Rangers, considering what they wanted to do at the deadline and it wasn’t all done? Are we going to see a (Alexis) Lafreniere move? Are we going to see a (Vincent) Trocheck move? What could be available for the Canadiens there?”
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, I mean, you know, both of their names are part of it. Braden Schneider, the other one, his name came up a good portion of the season. He’s an RFA. The Rangers, the fifth pick, is another team that I think has had some discussions about moving up.
They held on to (Vincent) Trocheck because they thought the market might decide what price they wanted, I don’t know for sure what the asking price was, but it sounds like a first-round pick, a top prospect, more assets, something along those lines, and the prices weren’t met.
NHL Rumors: New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck
I know Minnesota had offered a deal that included a first-round pick before the deadline, but apparently it didn’t happen. The guards thought they could get more, and if they had to wait it out, they would wait it out. Well, that’s what they did. It waited until the offseason, but now you have (Dylan) Larkin. Will we see other facilities that may be available as well?
I think New York took that situation because of the free agent market, expecting it to be bad where teams would have to fill holes elsewhere. So, unless that price is met, they are free to keep him. But like when they were on the deadline, but they stuck to that, and if they stick to him again, that’s good.”
NHLRumors.com Note: One of the biggest names that could go on is Vincent Trocheck. The feeling was that Trocheck would leave at the appointed time, but he did not. According to those close to the situation, Trocheck is expected to be moved this summer. You just changed agents and want to speed up the process. The problem is that New York Rangers GM Chris Drury is trying to hit the jackpot, considering the returns he got from other players who sold away.
NHL Rumors: Vincent Trocheck and the Latest on Potential Suitors
The belief is that he wants a registered player back as part of a deal that could help the team. Not just hopes and choices. Also, Trocheck didn’t want to be sold to West at the last minute. But now he is open to going to the West. So this opens up options for the Rangers. It’s not just teams like Detroit, Minnesota, Carolina, and Montreal.
Enter the Los Angeles Kings. Peter Laviolette is the head coach there. Artemi Panarin is here. So a connection is made. Are the Kings good enough to make that deal? But it’s a team that is open to Rangers.
