Andaz One Bangkok Review: Inside the New Wireless Road Bangkok Hotel

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning, Bangkok can be an amazing experience. The crowds, the sometimes oppressive heat, the hustle and bustle—Thailand’s capital city is full of energy. That’s not a bad thing; it’s just the reality of this vibrant, bustling city, with its famous markets and ever-bustling street life, and it’s part of Bangkok’s charm.
You need to experience that exciting part of the city, but it’s all about balance—and that balance was exactly what I was leaning toward after a—fun—day spent exploring Bangkok’s lively streets and wandering the local markets, with a few 7-Eleven AC breaks sprinkled in. Like any New Yorker, I’d like to think I’m adept at handling crowds, sweltering concrete temperatures and oppressive humidity—alas, after a lovely morning and afternoon on the city’s beach, I rushed to the lobby of the Andaz One Bangkok, ready to take a breather from the hotel and fall into the neighborhood.
The hotel is a new addition to Bangkok’s hotel scene; it opened in December 2025, but when I visited a few months after its opening, it seemed as if it had been part of the city’s hospitality scene for many years. Andaz, the luxury lifestyle brand under the larger Hyatt umbrella, seems like a perfect fit for the city—so much so that it’s surprising the hotel is so new, considering how seamlessly it fits in. Many hotel brands—especially those owned by large hospitality companies—don’t have a distinct Andaz personality and style, but each is a unique Andaz property; the only thing that remains the same is the household appliances. Each is inspired by the local landscape, taking those details into the design elements of the hotel.

For the interiors of Andaz One Bangkok, for example, Bangkok-based design firm PIA drew inspiration from the surroundings of Wireless Road (Witthayu), once home to Thailand’s first radio telephone station. The area presents itself as a “standing place,” with different public spaces intended to reflect the unique landscape, street or spirit of the city.
PIA draws on the city’s streets and hidden alleys (“sois”), incorporating arches and curves in the architecture as a way to pay homage to mid-century Thai architecture, seen in nearby locations such as Vidyu Palace (also known as Witthayu Palace). The interiors are decidedly modern but not overly so; think clean lines and warm, neutral colors and bold touches of red, pink and blue in public spaces meant to evoke colorful street lights and street lights. Greenery evokes the beautiful landscape of neighboring Lumphini Park, which many rooms overlook, and vibrant works from local Thai artists are found throughout the hotel, such as a tapestry from Ploenchan “Mook” Vinyaratn that hangs in the lobby.

The 244 rooms and suites all have the same, modern design, but in the range of hues mentioned above. During my stay in the spring, I entered a spacious room with an impressive view of Lumphini Park through floor-to-ceiling windows, dark wood furniture and light wood floors, with leather in a low color with umber and high white sofas. The marble-clad bathrooms were surprisingly large for a city hotel, decorated with Byredo products and a full set of guest amenities (toothbrushes, combs, razors, vanity units and more—which, by the way, I personally think should be waiting upon arrival at any luxury hotel—big points to Andaz for the brown box here) Another thing I liked, though, was that the amenity boxes, when placed together, They were decorated with a beautiful image of Lumphini Park, illustrated by a local artist, Taweechob.
While you should definitely explore the city’s rich and diverse culinary scene, don’t miss out on the Andaz’s on-site restaurants, including Jing for authentic Chinese cuisine and Piscari on the 23rd floor, serving up Mediterranean-style coastal cuisine from chef Marc Vasseur. The Andaz Terrace is an all-day dining and lounge concept where you will likely spend most of your time; this is where breakfast is served, and the alfresco terrace is perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail or last-call tipple. Andaz Terrace has an interesting and unique bar concept: it focuses on tea; you can design your own cocktail by first choosing a tea-based cordial, then your favorite spirit, then your preferred serving style, resulting in a truly delightful custom-made cocktail.

There is no official spa at the hotel, but there is a sauna and steam room, as well as a luxury fitness center. Those looking to indulge in a massage or treatment need not look far; The hotel is directly connected to the ground-floor One Bangkok shopping mall, filled with every retail, food and health destination imaginable.
Now, back to that pool, which is in the same area as the sauna and steam rooms. Truth be told, in the past, I’ve often found that while a city hotel with a pool is a great idea, it’s rarely done well—or, perhaps more importantly, executed well. For the most part, I don’t go downtown with the goal of lounging around a lap pool while looking at concrete. But when we arrived, the hotel general manager assured us, in the sweltering heat, that the hotel pool was underpowered, and that there was a reason the city had a thriving rooftop pool scene—something I didn’t know personally, but I soon learned was true for good reason, and in no small part due to the scorching summer temperatures.

Still, I doubted I’d spend much time there, but alas—after a day exploring the area and beyond, nothing sounded better. And a swimming pool indeed, the most enjoyable experience Andaz has perfected. Located on the seventh floor, the infinity pool overlooks Bangkok’s sparkling skyline, with comfortable sun lounges and shadier cabana-style seating. A full menu is available to order through the app, with food delivered quickly by attentive, helpful but not overly pushy staff. Outdoor pools in big city hotels can be difficult for many reasons, including the loud, constant sounds of city life. Well, not here—somehow, he’s above it all. And yet, this peaceful retreat is just an elevator ride from the alluring, bubbling energy that beckons the streets of Bangkok. Because in Bangkok, you need to experience it all.
