It’s been almost eight months since Dyson announced the Dyson V16 Piston Animal, Dyson V10 Konical, and Dyson V8 Cyclone cordless vacuum at its Dyson Unveiled event. As of June 2nd, they are finally available for purchase. Every list of the best cordless vacuums on the internet is about to be turned upside down.

While all three vacuums go live in Australia and the UK, US buyers are left with a vague “sometime in 2026” placeholder for release and pricing. Now, we know everything: Dyson’s new stick vacuums are currently the most affordable (compared to their counterparts from years past), ranging from $399 to $979. If you’ve been thinking about buying a Dyson during Prime Day, you might want to read up on the new ones before buying an old one on sale. Let’s get into it.

BREAKFUT:

Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones are lightweight and fit everywhere. Don’t get me started on double lasers.

In terms of precision cleaning, the V16 Piston Animal is the new model of Dyson’s new cordless vacuum. The V16 Piston consumes up to 315 AW (Air Watts), beating the Dyson Gen5outsize Absolute’s 250 AW reign. The V16 automatically adjusts that oomph based on the type of floor. And, for the first time, the rod bends to make it easier to clean under the furniture.

The new V16 Piston Animal cleaning head is a force to be reckoned with in its own right. The All Floor Cones Sense head includes two soft nail brush bars similar to those seen on the Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones, replacing the single short roll that comprised the old Fluffy Optic head. I’ve raved about the Dyson laser and fluffy head combo for picking up pet hair on hardwood floors for years – this is it, but more powerful than ever.

In the box, Dyson includes a Motorbar advanced carpet cleaning head, a pet tool with a small motor, and a crevice tool. The Dyson V16 Piston Animal costs $979 and is available for purchase now. For $1,099, wet-dry cleaning is possible with the advanced Submarine 2.0 cleaning head. Surprisingly, both of these V16 Piston models are more affordable when released than the 2023 Gen5outsize vacuums, which are priced at $1,049 and are not compatible with the Submarine head.

The Dyson V10 Konical is the most powerful Dyson under $500 we’ve seen. The cleaning performance is improved compared to the current V10 and V11 models, thanks to the new conical moving head and the green LED for dust illumination. That makes it Dyson’s most affordable laser to date, beating the Dyson V12 Detect Slim that launched at $649.99.

The new V10 dust bin has returned to the horizontal design we’re used to seeing on the V7 and V8 models, which doesn’t point and empty into the bin in a straight line like the vertical design the V16 has. However, emptying the V10 by hand won’t hurt when the automatic docking station comes to market in August – yes, Dyson has finally gone there.

There are two ways Dyson can take the V8 series: Retire it or renew it. Dyson decided on the latter, and the redesigned Dyson V8 is a better value than its predecessors so far.

This version offers 30 percent more suction power, an improved filtration system, and up to 60 minutes of battery life, which is almost double the 30 to 40 minutes of older V8 models. At $399, the 2026 V8 is Dyson’s cheapest space (without discount) we’ve seen. The unloading station will be available in August.
