The club are willing to sell the “amazing” star to Tottenham or Everton instead of Barcelona
Everton and Tottenham Hotspur now look set to battle for the signature of Karl Etta Eyong from Levante this summer.
Everton and Tottenham are eyeing the attacking star
It’s a big summer for both clubs for different reasons. For Everton, it is an opportunity to close the gap between them and the places in Europe. By the end of the campaign, David Moyes had taken the Toffees to within four points of qualifying for the Europa Conference League.
Everton are eyeing a move to sign a “good” Premier League star
He could be one of the summer trades.
Then there’s Tottenham. After finishing 17th in back-to-back seasons and more than flirting with the dropzone, the Lilywhites just can’t get things worse this summer and will have their European ambitions.
With that being said, it’s only natural that a similarly impressive goal has emerged. According to Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, Levante are willing to sell Etta Eyong to Tottenham or Everton – sparking a battle between the Premier League duo.
This comes after Barcelona decided to look elsewhere for attacking options instead of moving his dream forward. And without the Catalan giants involved, Etta Eyong’s future remains open.
Price-wise, the 22-year-old is certainly affordable. Levante have reportedly put in an asking price of €25m (£22m) as they look to cash in.
Described as “amazing” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the Levante striker finished the campaign with seven goals and four assists in all competitions – enough to put him on the Premier League’s radar.
“Amazing” Etta Eyong can replace Thierno Barry
It wasn’t long ago that Everton spent a lot of money on Thierno Barry. The striker has arrived with plenty of promise and, to his credit, has shown glimpses of his quality throughout the campaign. However, glimpses of quality will not be enough if the Toffees are to qualify for Europe next season.
The arrival of Etta Eyong – another La Liga striker – one year will cast doubt on Barry’s long-term future on Merseyside and give Moyes an undeniably powerful option.

Although Barry finished the season with more goals to his name, the numbers suggest that Etta Eyong could have provided the Toffees with a bigger threat.
The 22-year-old took more shots per game and had a higher XG. The goals will eventually come in abundance for a player who enjoys those numbers below. Whether it is enough for Everton to launch their move now remains the big question.
