Prime Video Shoots Killers and Steamy Titles With New TV Show Pickups

Amazon took the stage for its Prime presentation on Monday and announced a new slate of original series in development, with more to come. Main Video in 2026 and 2027.

We’ve got some notable updates on the platform’s top titles — Aaron Paul is joining Fallout season 3, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power now has a premiere date for season 3. From spy and sultry variety topics to more, Prime Video’s event day was full of notable entries to keep an eye out for.

Amazon also gave several updates to previously announced projects, such as the live-action Voltron movie, Delphi, The Greatest (about Muhammad Ali), Reacher spin-off Neagley, Clashing Through the Snow and its new Barbershop TV series. Plugs for the upcoming Carrie TV show, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s holiday film, The Man With the Bag and an adaptation of the Dragon Rider book series The Fourth Wing were part of the event, too.

Back to the new stuff: Want to see Brett Goldstein play an accompanist? What about Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer as best friends, who also work as spies? Ride or Die

Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham star in this new comedy series as best friends Debbie and Judith, who think they know each other inside and out. But Judith has been keeping a big secret: She is an international assassin. A person from her past forces Judith and Debbie to run off to explore the life of a spy across Europe. The series premieres on Prime Video on July 15.

Brett Goldstein steps into the role of a divorced father who falls into Manhattan’s world of male escorts in this new comedy. “I’m so excited to bring a great show about condoms, parenting and cosplay to Amazon — the place where I buy my condoms, so it feels like a really fulfilling moment,” Goldstein said in a statement.

Sex Offenders

The upcoming series stars Imogen Poots and John Reynolds as Suze and Jon, two people who can’t stop time during sex. So, they decided to rob banks. Sex Criminals is based on the popular comic book run by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky and co-written by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani and Tze Chun.

Rose Hill

Rose Hill is based on the best-selling romance novels by Elsie Silver and follows friends and neighbors, West Belmont — a farmer with relationship problems — and smitten record label owner Ford Grant, who has feelings for West’s sister, Rosie. Enter country music star Skylar Stone to set this small mountain town on fire.

Reality Retreat

Prime Video’s new reality competition series pits 11 reality stars against each other in a high-life escape. The series’ ensemble cast includes Housewives stars Kenya Moore, Margaret Josephs and Kim Zolciak; Bachelorette fan favorites Kaitlyn Bristowe, Jenn Tran, and Julie and Savannah Chrisley; and other notables Christine Quinn, Brittany Cartwright, Tamar Braxton and Hilaria Baldwin.
