FSG are planning to sign Liverpool’s new Sadio Mane

After Liverpool’s Premier League defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, Virgil van Dijk lamented his side’s “unacceptable” season, saying it “will not happen again”.

Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table, and given that the top five will be enough for Champions League football due to England’s performance level, the fact that Arne Slot’s side are 18 points behind league leaders Arsenal is a more accurate reflection of where this club is.

It’s all relative, and even though Liverpool are on the way to putting together the bare minimum, there is no doubt that major improvements are needed next year, especially in attack.

However, with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak both recommending deception, Hugo Ekitike out for a long time after breaking his ACL and Mohamed Salah quitting this summer, a year before the end of his contract, it will not be a cakewalk for FSG.

Liverpool are looking to sign a Premier League prodigy

Liverpool have lost 19 games in all competitions this season, but their attacking flaws have arguably outweighed a strong and selfish defense that 34-year-old captain Van Dijk has been unable to cope with.

Renting doesn’t work. That’s not to say that struggling signings won’t rise to the occasion next year, but it’s clear that sporting director Richard Hughes has a big job on his hands in the coming months, as more firepower is needed in the final third.

Liverpool don’t want to risk Ekitike’s return, and while a right-back is needed to replace Salah, the up-and-coming talent may be the best bet for the alternative.

Enter Junior Kroupi. According to Sports Boom, the Bournemouth striker has been added to Liverpool’s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are currently leading the race for the 19-year-old Frenchman, but the need for a Merseyside attack is great. That said, The Paper say the Cherries don’t want to sell this summer and if they did, it would be £100m in the summer of 2027.

This is a tall order for one so young, but Kroupi is the real deal, and his lethal instincts and blistering pace suggest he could be Liverpool’s version of Sadio Mane’s Slot.

Why Kroupi could be the new Mane at Liverpool

Kroupi is hailed as GOAL as ‘the next Mbappe’, he is only 19 years old. Last season, he played his part in the French Ligue 2. However, Bournemouth’s recruitment is sharp and they saw the youngster’s potential after scoring 22 goals in 30 games for Metz.

“He’s amazing. He reminds me a bit of Kylian Mbappe in his prime. He does everything very quickly. He still has good stats for a young man his age.” – Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Kroupi plays his football with the subtle air of a true natural born goalscorer. He has actually been hailed as “one of the best finishers in the PL” by Daniel Sturridge – and the former Liverpool man knows a thing or two about scoring.

Despite his youth, Kroupi has scored 12 goals in his first Premier League campaign, starting just 18 times. That makes him one of the deadliest youngsters in the club’s history, and another goal in the final few weeks will cement his status as a newcomer.

Most impressively, he has missed just three big chances all season, and when you consider his accuracy in danger and his versatility, capable on the left or in a central forward position, you begin to see why Liverpool are ready to break the bank and sign their new Mane.

Mane rejoined Liverpool from the south coast, signing a £34m deal after a couple of outstanding seasons with Southampton, who were riding a wave in the top flight at the time.

Kroupi’s 12 goals this season actually surpasses Mane’s 11 goals in two years at St. Mary’s, and that bodes well for his future at this stage, where he could be a rising star at Liverpool.

The veteran has confirmed his status as one of the best players of his generation, and now, Liverpool have a chance to repeat their old trick.

Kroupi will come without the pressure of delivery as a focal point. He will be an addition to a front line loaded with talent. Maybe his power can bring back the likes of Isak and Wirtz.

If Kroupi can continue to scratch the same spot as the Senegalese legend in the Premier League, he will retire a very happy man indeed.

But this is a talent that has the potential to match Mane, turning him into a suitable player but bearing the same scent as Jurgen Klopp’s favorite who has achieved so much within the four walls of Anfield.
