LA Kings camp with Drew Doughty has not had extension talks
Zach Dooley: Los Angeles Kings pending UFA defenseman Drew Doughty said there are no contract extension talks between the two sides. He would like to finish his career at Kings if he is offered.
Doughty: “It wasn’t talked about, I want to stay here, I hope the Kings want me to stay here, if they contact me to do something, I will do it.”

Kristy Flannery for Hockey News: New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier is eligible for a contract extension after July 1st, and will be near the top of new GM Sunny Mehta’s to-do list. It was learned on Monday that Mehta’s agent and Hischier have already had an introductory phone conversation and more talks will follow.

1. Alex Tuch – RW – Buffalo Sabers – Can put up 35 goals and deliver the intangibles. The Sabers can’t let him go. He could be looking at Adrian Kempe for $10.625 million or more.
2. Rasmus Andersson – RHD – Vegas Golden Knights – The Golden Knights have less than $4 million in cap space, so they may have to make some moves if they want to stretch him. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins were interested in trading him this offseason.
3. Darren Raddysh – RHD – Tampa Bay Lightning – Scored 70 points this season, while averaging 23 minutes per game. He could be looking at a contract close to JJ Moser’s four-year contract worth $6.75 million. The Maple Leafs will be among the teams interested.
4. John Carlson – RHD – Anaheim Ducks – The Ducks would like to re-sign at the trade deadline after giving up their first and third. Some wonder if he is returning to Washington.
5. Evgeni Malkin – C – Pittsburgh Penguins – Wants to be back with the Penguins next year. What will GM Kyle Dubas decide?
6. Charlie Coyle – C – Columbus Blue Jackets – They have re-signing cap space and will be interested. Will Coyle want to explore an underserved market?
7. Jacob Trouba – RHD – Anaheim Ducks – The Ducks have three veteran righties, pending UFA defenses to decide.
8. Anthony Mantha – RW/LW – Pittsburgh Penguins – Scored a career high 33 goals. He has been versatile throughout his career, so teams may be reluctant to go too long. His shooting percentage was 21.7%, compared to his career average of 13.8%.
9. Bobby McMann – LW – Seattle Kraken – Posted 10 goals and four assists in 18 games for the Kraken after the Maple Leafs trade. He fit in well. There are no interviews at this time as they are conducting an organizational study.

10. Stuart Skinner – G – Pittsburgh Penguins – Best scoring option under 30.
11. Jaden Schwartz – LW – Seattle Kraken – He dealt with injuries last season and could be a wait and see for the Kraken.
12. Alex Ovechkin – LW - Washington Capitals – Will he want to continue playing to chase 1,000 goals? The Caps are giving Ovechkin time and space to decide if he wants to play another year.
