The new OnePlus Pad 4 is thinner and faster, but it’s not in the US yet

OnePlus unveiled the Pad 4 on Thursday, the latest iteration of the company’s Pad series, a tablet with a good screen size, a big battery and a fast processor — all thinner than a pencil.
The Pad 4 has a 13.2-inch screen, a 13,380-mAh battery and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the fastest available in Android systems. Snapdragon is a system-on-a-chip processor made by Qualcomm and found in smartphones, tablets and laptops.
CNET loved the OnePlus Pad 3, and early indications are that its successor may build on its strengths. Our review called the Pad 3 “the best new Android tablet” among us the best choice of 2026and longtime CNET reviewer David Carnoy said “strong and beautiful,” if it costs less.
The Pad 4 is only available in India at the moment, and the company has not said when the device will arrive in the US market. A representative for OnePlus did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Pad 4 is more powerful than its predecessor. OnePlus said that, according to AnTuTu Benchmark tests, the tablet has 42% higher performance than the Pad 3. AnTuTu is a widely used performance testing platform that tests features such as CPU, GPU, RAM, and user experience of smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
The 13.2-inch screen has a 7:5 aspect ratio with a 144Hz refresh rate, 315 ppi resolution, Dolby Vision support, 12-bit color depth and up to 1,000 nits HBM brightness. And it’s all 5.94mm thick. For reference, pencil No. 2 is 7-10mm thick.
Despite its slim profile, the Pad 4 weighs 672 grams, more than the 13-inch iPad Pro.
OnePlus said the Pad 4’s 13,380-mAh battery will allow users to watch videos for up to 20 hours, and that a single full charge can provide up to 7 hours of playback and 54 days of standby time. Recharging it all is done with 80-watt fast charging.
The new Pad 4 has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, as well as eight speakers and two microphones. OnePlus also adds built-in AI tools, according to the company: AI Writer, AI Translate and AI Summary. Also, AI Artist creates visuals from drawings and uses data to generate charts and diagrams, and AI Recorder transcribes and summarizes recordings and can convert handwriting to text.
Currently, the Pad 4 is available in two colors — dune light and sage haze — and retails in India for around $630 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or $685 for the 12GB/512GB option.
Rumors about the future of OnePlus
A flurry of reports and rumors have surrounded the future of OnePlus over the past few months. A Chinese expert inside Digital Chat Station wrote on Weibo on Wednesday that OnePlus has been merged with Chinese device maker Realme. Both companies are sub-brands of OPPO, China’s largest consumer electronics company.
Digital Chat Station said the combined organization will share product development, software planning and launch roadmaps. There were also reports from various outlets that OnePlus might exit the US, UK and EU markets and focus only on India and China.
Technology analyst Paulo Pescatore told CNET that, “There seems to be a series of departures that suggest a major restructuring of its operations in Europe.”
