Witnesses who were inside the ball described the chaotic scene as the Secret Service rushed to take President Donald Trump and other senior officials to safety during the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
Michael Duncan, host of the “Ruthless” podcast, described when he saw law enforcement officers running toward the stage over the weekend.
“The Secret Service came in full force, running toward the stage, guns drawn and everything,” Duncan said in an episode of “Ruthless” that aired Tuesday. “Take out Trump, take out JD, take out the whole field.”
He said the law enforcement officers rushed in, trying to escort the president and Vice President JD Vance, as well as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other members of the Cabinet, to safety. When this incident happened, Duncan said he realized that no one would help him during the chaos.

It was the first time Trump attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner as president at any time. In televised remarks from the White House briefing room after the shooting, Trump vowed to reschedule the event.
“This was a free speech event that was supposed to bring together members of both parties and the media, and somehow it did, because they just came together,” Trump said. “I saw a room that was completely unified. It was beautiful, in a way, a wonderful thing to see.”
U.S. Attorney for Washington, DC, Jeanine Pirro told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham that she feels federal prosecutors have a “strong case” against the suspect, adding, “It’s clear what his intent was… to kill the president.”
