Joe Rogan says Trump betrayed voters with a war after promising no wars

Many of the same podcasters credited with bringing President Donald Trump his 2024 victory, from Joe Rogan to Theo Von, are warning that broken campaign promises can have dire consequences.
Trump won what some call the “podcast election,” in which he appeared in a number of platforms that appeal to young men, a group that has shifted to the right in recent years amid the backlash of far-left cultural programs and affordability issues. But many of the same podcasters who persuaded these young men to support Trump are now warning his current policies are a betrayal of his voters or abandoning him altogether.
Semafor wrote about this incident in a recent episode titled, “‘Baffling’: Trump’s podcaster problem is deep,” emphasizing that although Rogan has a recent friendly visit to the White House to advance the cause of psychedelic therapy research, other issues are still at play.
“But even if the White House’s efforts to impeach Rogan are successful, Trump has a lot of work to do,” Semafor wrote. “Of the 14 long-form podcasts Trump has appeared on in his 2024 presidential campaign, eight hosts have questioned or criticized the war, while just two have acknowledged it.”
ROGAN LAUGHED AT TRUMP’S PHOTO AI CALLED HIM AS A CRAZY AS JESUS
Podcaster Joe Rogan said he sent President Donald Trump a study on ibogaine and received an immediate response urging FDA approval, which he said immediately jump-started the administration’s policy effort. Rogan warns Trump voters ‘feel betrayed’ by Iran war, says Trump was pressured by foreign leader.
“Well, it looks crazy because of what he ran into,” Rogan said in March. “I mean, that’s why a lot of people feel betrayed, right? He ran into ‘dead wars’ and ‘these stupid stupid wars,’ and then we have another one that we can’t even clearly explain why we did that.”
Rogan also had mixed views on the ICE raids, saying he understood the views of those who were for and against the raids, but ended up defending the raids and blaming Democrats who say they have failed to secure the border in recent years.
Days after his visit to the White House to attend Trump’s signing of a resolution allowing medical research on the mentally ill earlier this week, Rogan argued that Israel was the reason America was forced into the war.
“Netanyahu kept visiting the White House. Do you think it was just a coincidence that Netanyahu kept visiting the White House and finally decided to give in and start bombing?” Rogan asked. “You have to ask yourself how do you get out of this? And then what does the way out look like? Do we have the military there forever? Are we supporting them if we blow up their power grid and their infrastructure?”

Libertarian comedian Dave Smith warned in a recent podcast with Theo Von that the GOP is facing an upheaval as young Americans believe former President Donald Trump has not kept MAGA promises, especially on foreign policy. (Screenshot/”Part of the Problem”)
Comedian Dave Smith says Trump has destroyed a historic coalition, he will return the country to the Democrats.
Comedian and liberal singer Dave Smith, who is very critical of Israel’s influence in American politics, criticized Trump’s decisions even though he voted for him in 2024.
“After 24, this coalition came together when Donald Trump, for the first time, won the popular vote, won all swing states, and surprisingly, he won the youth and culture,” Smith said in an interview with Rogan last month.
“That alliance has been destroyed because of this war,” he said. “And now he is going to return the country to the Democrats who fought so hard. All that? All for the war that Netanyahu wanted?”
During a podcast with comedian Theo Von, Smith argued that Trump desperately needed to “win something, like really clear Ws for the American people” or the midterms would be disastrous for Republicans.
“The basic spirit of Donald Trump’s political life, his main promise was to ‘drain the swamp,'” Smith said later in the podcast. “There’s something about closing the Epstein thing that’s like, ‘Oh, when it really came down, you didn’t want to drain the swamp. You wanted to protect them.’
FORMER CHEF SAYS TRUMP SHOULD HOLD ISRAEL BEFORE DECLARING VICTORY ON IRAN
Theo Von says Trump failed to put the American people first, resorting to ‘demonic’ behavior instead
Theo Von, who interviewed Trump in 2024 and is reportedly Barron Trump’s favorite host, has repeatedly criticized the president for the Iran war.
On Monday, Theo Von criticized Trump’s Easter threat to destroy Iran’s civilization.
“On Easter, that’s unbelievable. You know when people hope for something new literally on a day when people hope and believe with their hearts as much as possible and celebrate something new, rebirth, resurrection, something that can happen, writing that is demonic. It’s crazy,” he said. “What American helps this, outside of the industrial war complex? What American, what guy is trying to take care of his family, or a single mother who’s a nurse who’s going to work and has to come home and get to her kids’ soccer game and they have to be both parents. Which farmer is helping? What common man is this helping? I just don’t know. I don’t understand.”
Theo Von added that Trump’s decision to start a war with Iran was “complex” and that he was allegedly putting Israel at risk.

Comedian Andrew Schulz says Trump’s presidency is ‘the exact opposite’ of what he voted for
Comedian Andrew Schulz, who also interviewed Trump during the 2024 election, said in July that people threw his vote for Trump in his face.
“I didn’t vote for anything on this! You’re doing the exact opposite of everything I voted for!,” Schulz said in response.
More recently, he has criticized the Iran war, saying it angers Americans who are concerned about affordability.
“And the only reason we seem to be in there right now is because Israel needs it, and then, naturally, Americans are angry about it, right? Because we’re like, ‘How the f— does this benefit me? I can’t afford college. I can’t buy a home. I can’t afford health insurance. And we’re going to spend billions of dollars on the country even when I can’t benefit this map at the point of war. Me?,'” he said.

Comedian warns war on Iran is ‘death knell’ for Trump organization, based on bogus intelligence.
Comedian Tim Dillon, an outspoken, anti-establishment comedian, was hailed by CNN in 2025 as one of the top comedians who “helped Trump reach young men” until “Democrats wanted in on the joke.”
He told CNN, “You can’t go to war with straight white men for four years and ask why they didn’t vote for you. That seems crazy. I made fun of Meghan Markle a lot. I can’t go, ‘Why don’t you think Meghan Markle is watching (my choice)?’ I think you should pick your fights better.”
In March, he blasted the Iran war as ill-advised and a death knell for the Trump administration, saying “It seems clear that we were caught a little short” by misguided intellectuals in Iran.
“It’s hard to argue that this isn’t the death knell for whatever the Trump coalition was trying to do, whatever deep-seated nonsense they were talking about that came after the Epstein list, they wouldn’t take another part out, and say they’re in, they’re in this fight,” he said. “You know, any idea that this was a group of people committed to any kind of transparency or anything, it’s funny. It’s funny if you have any kind of brain, which most of you don’t.”
When contacted by Fox News Digital, White House spokesman Davis Ingle responded, “The most important thing for the American people is to have a Commander in Chief who takes decisive action to eliminate threats and keep them safe, which is exactly what President Trump did with the successful Operation Epic Fury.”
“President Trump proudly campaigned on his promise to deny the Iranian regime the ability to develop a nuclear weapon, which is what this great deal is accomplishing,” Ingle continued. “The President is not making these incredibly important national security decisions based on a watered down opinion poll, but one that is in the best interest of the American people.”
