It’s hard to escape Timothée Chalamet in a movie these days. First, he was Totalthen he won over Bob Dylan, and now he’s taking audiences into the world of 1950s table tennis as ping pong star Marty Mauser.
Directed by Josh Safdie and distributed by A24, Marty Supreme he was a big contender during the awards. Chalamet won a Golden Globe for his performance as Marty, and although he didn’t take home an Oscar, the movie was nominated nine times, which is still something to be proud of. Beyond Chalamet, sports drama and has a great cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma (aka Tyler, the Creator), Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.

Inspired by the real-life story of table tennis champion Marty Reisman, Marty Mauser (Chalamet) is a man with a big dream — to achieve greatness and bring ping pong to the masses. Now A24’s highest grossing film in the country, Marty Supreme you have passed Everything Everywhere At Once in North America for over $80 million. The audience didn’t just show up; they love you. Currently, the comedy has an audience rating of 82 percent and a critic rating of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes – many of whom enjoyed Chalamet’s performance. He won a Golden Globe and was nominated for the Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar. It doesn’t stop there, however; the film was also nominated in the categories of Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Film Editing, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Casting, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Screenplay.

A24 is released Marty Supreme on digital back on Feb. 10, so we have been waiting a lot for its first broadcast. Now that it’s finally here, we’ve broken down the details below.
